What is Virbac Yard Spray?

Virbac Yard Spray is a convenient method for killing fleas and ticks in your yard. Simply attach the included sprayer to the end of a garden hose and you can cover up to 6,000 square feet. Virbac Yard Spray helps prevent re-infestations on your dog or cat when used with preventatives, such as Frontline Plus, and a home remedy, such as the Virbac Knockout Fogger (both sold separately.)

How it works:
Esfenvalerate is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide that kills a wide range of pests, including fleas and ticks. Its safer than many other formulations. That said, be sure not to apply directly to your pets or in ponds, as it is highly toxic with fish.

What is this product used for: Virbac Yard Spray is used outdoors on lawns and around residential premises to kill fleas and ticks. It also kills deer ticks that may carry and transmit Lyme Disease.

Availability: Virbac Yard Spray is a non-prescription (OTC) product.

How this product should be used: Apply through the hose end sprayer provided with this product or by compressed air sprayer or watering can. For best results, lawn should be mowed a day or two before spraying. This bottle will treat 6000 square feet. To treat smaller areas, stop spraying when the appropriate amount of concentrate has been used (e.g., half the concentrate should be used for a 3000 square foot yard).

What are the side effects: This product can be harmful if swallowed. Call a physician or poison control center immediately. If in the eyes, flush with plenty of water. If on skin or clothing, remove clothing and wash before reuse. Wash skin with soap and warm water.

What special precautions are there: This pesticide is highly toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. Do not apply directly to water. Drift from treated areas may be hazardous to organisms in adjacent aquatic sites. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment.

In the event of overdose: Contact a physician or poison control center immediately.

How should I store this product: Store this product in a cool, dry area away from heat or open flame. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.

Directions:

•	Virbac Yard Spray Concentrate is a residual action insecticide concentrate for use outdoors on residential lawns and around residential premises only to kill fleas and ticks, including the Deer Tick, which can cause Lyme Disease.

Tip: This product can also be applied by compressed air sprayer or watering can after diluting 2 ounces of concentrate with 1 gallon of water to cover a 1000 square foot area.

Dogs/Cats:	All weights	To kill fleas and ticks harboring in lawns, back yards, dog kennels and runs, apply Yard Spray Concentrate through the hose end sprayer provided with the product. This will provide the correct dilution and will treat 6000 square feet. Do not apply directly to pet.

Storage: Store this product in closed container in a cool, dry place.

Great Purchase I used this spray a couple of days ago along with Advantix II and Carpet powder and so far the fleas have disappeared. I really believe the yard spray did the trick...we had been using something similiar to Advantix II on my dog that we had got from the vet and it never even touched the fleas. My dog is eating better and is much happier now. I would definitely recommend this product. 04/17/2012

Virbac Yard Spray I just used it a couple of weeks ago, it seems to be working so far. I live in Florida and have had problems with ticks, not so much fleas. It is very dry here. I don't know if that has anything to do with the tick population. I haven't seen a tick on the dogs since I sprayed. I hope it works, if not I will just try a second dose maybe that will do the trick. Sometimes you just need another dose. I have four dachshunds a Black Lab mix and Golden Retriever mix. 04/13/2012

So Far, so good Too early to say anything about the product's effectiveness, but it sure was easy to apply. My hope is that this will keep the fleas at bay to help out my dogs. In this part of the country (central midwest), and with our mild winter, the bugs are out in force, and will probably be pretty bad as the weather warms up even more. Will this also kill Mosquitoes??

Just wondering if this will also kill mosquitoes. Its been raining here after a long dry spell. I just got the product and the Mosquitoes are crazy. Just hoping I can kill these Mosquitoes at the same time.

We are sorry this product is only for fleas and ticks and does not cover mosquitoes. If you are looking for coverage for a dog we would suggest using K9 Advantix which can be found @

This product repels mosquitoes as well as fleas and ticks but can only be used on a dog.

Rain will not affect the product after being applied. In some cases of really dry ground it will assist in spreading the application out.

You should treat periodically to break the lifecycle of the flea and get rid of any new migration of fleas moving into the area (at least every two months if not more frequently). It is an immediate kill product and has no residual effect.
