Forget about regular steel crates, The Super Dog Crate with Cozy Bed
is your pet's dream den. It's made of sturdy steel and blow molded plastic which resists cracking.
Many pets sleep on cold steel trays, but this crate comes with a
plush, cushiony bed that is washable. It's the most versatile on the market
with 4 doors: a top loading door, two side doors, and a large front door that opens up
and stows away in the top of the crate. This unique garage door allows your pet to
come in and out without the nuisance of a swinging door.
Cautions: This pet crate is not suitable or certified for air travel. These crates are not stackable. Remove all collars and leashes while using this product. Make sure all locks are engaged when this product is in use. Do not use or rest near an open or exposed flame. Although this product is compact for travel, it is not airline approved due to its folding capability.
Directions (To set up):
•
Remove the crate from the carrying case and place crate on the ground with the Pet Gear logo on the bottom facing towards you.
•
Lift the top panel up and out so the side wiring is extended.
•
Lift both side panels of the crate to 90 degrees.
•
Flip the crate so that it is on its side (facing upward) and align the inter-locking panels from the side panels to the top panel.
•
Align the inter-locking panels on the sides to the top panel and press in place.
•
Latch the locks by extending the lock downward, then up to lift the lock into place. (If the bottom part does not latch, repeat the previous two steps.)
•
To ensure the latch and lock is fastened, lightly pull up on the lock.
•
Fasten the latches on the left and right back sides of the cage.
Directions (To break down):
•
Unlock all the latches on each panel.
•
With the crate sitting up, pull the top loading door back so that it is extended onto the floor.
•
Fold in both of the side gates and place down into the bottom area of the crate on top of each other.
•
Fold in the top loading door and secure the bottom front locks.
Tip: If this is your pet's first time using a crate, try encouraging your pet by placing treats inside the crate. Keep the door open to allow your pet to sniff around and become comfortable with it.

I purchased the small crate for my female Shiba Inu. It's a tad smaller than what I would have liked, but the next size up would have been huge.
Pros: - It's fairly easy to assemble. I didn't pinch any fingers (that always happens to me with the wire crates)! The little question mark hooks that connect the back wire panel to the side panels took a little coaxing. It was easier the second time around.
- The Crate was easily collapsed.
- It's nice having 4 different doors (2 sides, 1 top, and 1 garage door).
- It's pretty heavy, but thankfully it comes with wheels.
Cons: - When you collapse the crate, there is nothing to hold it together unless you put it back in the bag it came with. This is a little annoying if all I want to do is briefly stash it in the closet. You can't simply collapse and roll it away without struggling to keep it from opening again. I will probably invest in a bungee cord.
- Sturdiness! I read other reviews that said it wasn't a very sturdy crate and I agree. However, my dog doesn't fight being in the crate, so I wasn't worried when I bought it. I am a bit concerned about the clamps, though, as I had one come off the second time I assembled the crate. Luckily, I was able to pop it back into place. I hope I don't have to do that often because it might wear away the plastic!
- The dog pad/bed that comes with the crate doesn't have a lot of stuffing... although my dog doesn't seem to care. An older dog might appreciate more padding for his old achy bones.
I hope my review is helpful. This is the first time I've ever written a review for anything. This was also my first time ordering anything from 1800 Petmeds. My order arrived quickly and in great shape!
iT'S SO DIFFERENT THAN THE METAL CRATES. tHIS LOOKS LIKE A BIG TOY. i KEEP ALL THE DOORS OPEN DURING THE DAY, AND IF SHE'S TIRED SHE GOES UP AND TAKES A NAP IN THERE. sHE DOESN'T BARK OR CRY AND THEREFORE i THINK IT GIVES HER A WARMER FEELING. THANKS. sHE LOVES THE FOOD TOO. i'M NOT READY FOR MORE YET.
best bed he ever had he loves it and play and it the kids keep him and it he lives and it the bed is very cozy the kids call it the home aweay from home my loves it to they say they are going to get one to
I have to say I love this crate and can't remember what I did before it. The door on top is the difference, and the "garage" door on the side leaves it always open so my yorkipoo can go in an out as she pleases, it's her "spot" in the house where she feels safest now.
My dogs are already crate trained and I got this crate because I was tired of looking at the wire crate, like the ones you see in the puppy mill photos. This crate looks great in my house, and after remodeling my kitchen, I had to step it up a bit. It's easy to put together and easy to clean. The door on top makes it the simplest way to handle both my dogs when someone knocks on the door, or any other time I have to put them away quickly.
THE CREAT AS WELL NEEDED FOR TRANSPORT IN THE CAR. WHILE YOURS IS NOT SUITABLE FOR AIRPLANE TRAVEL...IS IT FINE FOR CAR? LOOKING AT THE WEB YOUR PRODUCT APPEARS SUPERIOR TO ANY OTHER AND BY FAR OUR PREFERENCE. PLEASE ADVISE REGARDING SIZE. THANK YOU, N.A. MILES LIVERPOOL, NEW YORK
Your dog should be able to stand and fully turn around in the crate. The small crate is 27" long, 18" wide and 21" high. The small crate is recommended for breeds such as Shih Tzu, Yorkie, Dachshund, Pomeranian, Pug, and Jack Russell Terrier. You might want to measure your dog to make sure it is tall enough for him to stand comfortably.
It was unclear if the super dog crate and the super dog crate with bed are one and the same? Before I order, I need to know. Thank you for your answer. I want to order in time to arrive before mid November.
If you are looking for the crate with the included plush bed, you do need to select the crate called "Super Dog Crate with Cozy Bed." The crate called "Super Dog Crate" does not include the plush bed, but comes with a black fleece mat that is removable and washable. The crates do not come with a cover, but both fold down for easy storage.
