Greenies Pill Pockets Chicken for Cats (tablets or capsules):
I started using these on my oldest cat when she was diagnosed with an over active thyroid last fall. There was no way I was going to grab her and shove half a pill down her throat every single day! Besides, you shouldn't handle this medication without wearing gloves. The Pill Pockets are great--all I have to do is insert the pill with a pair of tweezers, crimp shut and feed it to her. She loves them, and her thyroid levels are where the vet wants them to be.
Laika is a lab mix and is 9 3/4 yrs old at 56 lbs. Taking 2 pills in the morning and 2-3 in the evening. We have only used the chicken flavor. They smell wonderful and are so easy to use. I have just ordered 4 more packs. I gave a friend a couple of pill pockets for her dashound/corgi mix Max and he loves them. Laika has benifited from all the proucts we have purchased from you. Thank you so much
"Pilling" has never been an issue, my boys begged & sat for their pills, because treats always followed each pill. But when Jake was diagnosed with cancer & began a regimen of 4 pain pills twice a day & 3 antibiotics twice a day I couldn't bear the thought of putting him through that. I'm able to get all his pain pills & all of his antibiotics in just 2 Pill Pockets & give all the meds at one time. We know his time is limited, this has made it possible to add one less stressful event twice a day to it.
Cece, the calorie count depends on which size you get. The beef Pill Pocket which holds capsules has 29 calories each. The beef Pill Pocket for tablets has 11 calories each.
I fold and crease wax paper and try to put any loose powdered med in center of pocket. Then I squeeze it closed. Try masking any sent with food or gravy. Even a tidbit of cheese wrapped around it. Even if your cat balks, they forget and love you with out condition!!!

According to the Greenies website, you can put liquid medicine in a pill-pocket because when sealed the pill-pockets are air tight - so I assume that you wont have any problems with a powdered medicine. Good luck.
Hi Oliva, it really just depends on if the taste of the medication overpowers the taste of the pill pocket. The good news is we guarantee our products 100% so if the pill pockets do not work with your cat's medication, just let us know, and we will be happy to refund you in full for the product.
Dogs and cats can eat either of the pill pockets. Cats love the beef for dogs and dogs love the salmon for cats. They are all good ingredients and depending on the personal tastes of your pets, they can share and share alike with any of the Pill Pockets. And for dogs and cats with allergys, there is a new Pill Pocket just for them.
Hello. We hope you and your furry friends are doing well. It is doubtful that your doggie will get sick from kitty pill pockets, but we recommend going forward using the dog pill pockets to ensure that.
My dog has been on liver antioxidents (prescribed by her vet) for a little over month and the only way she will take the pills is the use of pill pockets. I have noticed that about after a week of using pill pockets every bowel movement has been loose, is this a normal reaction from the pill pockets or should I be conserned. She is an English bull dog, who was a little gassy to begin with but now I have also noticed her being more gassy then before as well. Thanks for your help!
That is a question you need to ask your vet.He will have your pets history. Also, contact the pill pocket company for added assurance. It could be associated with the pills and may eventually stop. BEST advice-ask the vet and go with what he tells you.Always make sure your pet gets extra water so as not to be dehydrated.

I haven't noticed any side effects with my dog and it seems over the last 2 years or so, with age, any change in diet send him into loose stools for a week.. is there anything else you might have changed in his routine? Even if it is not food- related. Also, it may be age related. Anyhow, if it persists, I would defintely get it checked with your vet. Good Luck!
I am not aware of diarrhea being a side effect from the use of Pill Pockets. The only way to tell if they are the cause would be to stop using them and see if the diarrhea stops.
