Cautions:
Do not place or store the clipper in an area where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink. Always unplug the clipper from the electrical outlet immediately after using (unless it is charging).

Before grooming, bathe and dry your dog's coat and brush out all tangles and mats.

As you prepare your dogs coat for grooming, examine the skin for any cuts, lumps, sores,
or other dermatological issues. Avoid these sensitive areas during grooming.

Use a leash for restraint before grooming. Never leave your dog unattended at any time during preparation or grooming.
•
Prepare your blade by placing a drop of oil on each side of the clipper blade.
•
After reviewing the Home Clipping guide and instructional DVD, select the appropriate blade length or comb attachment for your dog's breed and desired style.
Tip: Mats of hair that cannot be brushed should be cut using the clipper tool. The clipper can easily cut hair clean without any tugging or pulling.
I had the same problem as the other reviewers. The clippers got very hot, they rattled (even after tightening everything), they didn't cut through the hair, but would get jammed with each swipe, and the guard-teeth were so flimsy that they would bend during the grooming and scratch my pet. I finally bought the Andis professional Ultra Edge Pro Clip. It did'nt come with any guards, but it is amazing! It's got two speeds, is ultra quiet, runs cool and can cut through the thickest of fur (I have two shih-tzus). It was an investment worth every penny.
i bought these clippers and they have been very disappointing. They overheat and stop running before I can finish grooming my dog. They do not cut through matted hair and they are not very successful at cutting through hair that is not matted. They easily jam. I need to find some professional grade grooming clippers
