My dog had surgery after I got her from a rescue. She was weak, had a kennel cough and weighed 4 lbs. I gave her the Nutrical and she was up and running in no time. She was also not eating any food but for some reason she enjoyed this paste which smelled horrid but would lick it off my fingers. I saw immediate results in her after taking this product.
I use Nurta Cal for my stockdogs once a day . It keeps engery up for the long distance our ranch dogs have to travel. Also keeps the energy for running at cattle trials. We start our pups on it before they are weined off their mom. Tuf Stockdogs thank you for job well done.
I own two normal size yorkie females. One is 6 pounds. But the other weighted 3.5. I started to worry when she stopped eating any food. The vet said to give her Nutri-Cal and in a very short time she started eating again. I paid $13.99 with tax in the pet store. So I know PetMeds price of $8.99 is great. I will order three ,then the shipping will be free.
I got my baby for valentines day she was 1.1lbs .by the second day i noticed she wasnt eating and looked very ill i rushed her to the vet and he recomended nutri cal since then my baby is healthy and now weighs 2.2lbs.nutri cal saved my baby
Three out of the first five ingredients in Nutri-Cal are some form of SUGAR: corn syrup, malt syrup, and can molasses! If my cat is diabetic, has not eaten in two or three days, and has not had his insulin during that time, should he be given Nutri-Cal, even along with a small amount of soft Science Diet AD? Wouldn't that be harmful? In other words, my DIABETIC cat has been sick for a few days and hasn't eaten any of his regular food and has gotten dehydrated. Should he be given SUGAR, even with a little forced feeding of prescribed moist canned food? He hasn't been given his insulin in as many days as he has not eaten. This worries me.
You should not give your cat Nutri-Cal because, as you pointed out, this product contains sugar sources. You should, however, contact your veterinarian. The fact that your cat is not eating and has become dehydrated concerns me very much. Please bring your cat to the veterinarian if you have not already.
You should not give this product to a diabetic dog unless under the supervision of your veterinarian. Nutri-Cal contains Corn Syrup, Malt Syrup, and Cane Molasses, all of which are sources of sugar. If the pet is not eating well, you may want to use a multivitamin such as VitaChews to stimulate the pet's appetite, although diabetes usually causes an increase in appetite. It may be advisable to have your pet examined by your veterinarian.
