This is a good cleaner for the ears. It is not harsh and breaks up the gunk. I use it weekly to keep my standard poodles ears clean. I usually put it on a soft cloth and clean by wiping rather than pouring it into the ears. However it is a good flush and I have flushed their ears on occasion with this product. I would recommend using it.
I have to disagree with the person who said it was just alcohol with blue coloring. That's totally incorrect. I use this on my Berner, my Rat Terrier, and my Greyhound mix 1-2 times a week to prevent them from getting stinky smelly ears and since I started using it not one of my dogs has had to go to the vet for yeast infections or any other ear problems. You can also use it to flush small wounds.
My lab swims all summer and every summer I fight off the yeast infections, often with little sucssess. Once using this product no more stinky ears! Once a week preventative keeps her ears yeast free all summer.
This product is just alcohol with a blue coloring. for $36.00 you could buy a 5 gallon tub and have some left over for an anticeptic. I'm filling my empty Novasan Otic bottle with the stuff i have in the medicine cabinet.
