My cat has had ear mites his whole life (born April 2011) and I can't seem to get rid of them. I thoroughly followed the directions on this product and still have ear mites! This is after the vet treated him! :( My house is clean at all times, he was born inside and is not with any other animals in the house. All of his things are kept clean so I don't know what else to do.... :(
My cat had ear mites. So I called the vet and they wanted a lot of money just to see him. Then I was told about "PetMeds". So I ordered the medication, it was very easy and cheap! Now his bare patches by his ears and also the spots that spread down his body are clearing up! He started re-growing hair back within 5 days!! Thank you so much!!
I bought this to save money at the vets, but it really didn't get rid of the mites. It did seem to keep them from getting worse, my dog has had mites in the past and they got super bad, but this time they stayed somewhat controlled. Just never went away using this product.
I acquired a rescue Corgi with really foul smelling ears with crusting. The product made a difference right away and the second dose has almost cleared him up. It is very easy to use. I also dosed my cat who has chronic ear problems and she is feeling better. I don't want to have to take either of them to the vet right now, so I am very pleased with the outcome.
Mita-Clear is not used to prevent ear mite infections. It is used to treat an ear mite infection. Ear mite infections are usually seen as a dark red or black ooze coming from the pet's ears. You may want to consider using 1-800-PetMeds Ear Cleansing Solution. This should help keep the ears clean if there is no ear mite infection.
Yes I use it in addition to the revolution I give Squeaky. My vet said it would not harm him in any way and would give the mites a double whammy. I just don't use it on the same day... I will do his ears one day and a week later use the Revolution by staggering it... I feel better..
If your pet has been using Revolution for a number of months and has what you believe is an active ear mite infestation, I would suggest contacting your veterinarian. If your pet has been using Revolution for only 1 or 2 months and your pet has this ear mite infestation, then yes, you could use Mita-Clear Lotion to clear the infestation.
