Just found out about Malaseb shampoo and ordered it from 1800petmeds; it arrived quickly. I bathed my dog yesterday and am seeing immediate results from the shampoo. My dog Jinju constantly itched and licked, especially her genitalia - she was in constant discomfort. I had gone the route of vet, and vet dermatologist - all were of very little help. In the past 24 hours she has hardly shown any of her previous symptoms. I have great hope that Malaseb will be her cure.
CoCo, our Chihuahua, has had a tendency to have skin infections and hot spots since she was born. One vet suggested Malaseb shampoo, and over the years, it has been the only shampoo that worked. If we change shampoos or have her groomed, she breaks out again, but as soon as I use the Malaseb, it clears up almost overnight. She will be 8 years old in March.
I have tried many, many remedies for my 14-year old terrier mix (40 lbs) who has battled "hot spots" or moist dermatitis for 2 years, that at times covered 70% of her body. We've tried vet-prescribed antibiotics, shampoos, sprays, ointments, diet, and vetericyn - which works best on small spots, as it has an unusual odor - but none have done the job as quickly and thoroughly as the Malaseb shampoo. It rinsed off cleanly and took the majority of the scales and moist clumps with it. Her skin was left soft and clean, with no odor or irritation. The key is to make sure the dog's undercoat is dry by using a hair dryer or fan set to low. She is 100% improved with this shampoo used once per week at first, then once per month as indicated on the bottle.
I have 2 pugs who suffer from skin problems, and this is the only product which works wonders. If you leave it on for the specified time of 10 minutes you will see a difference after a few washes. I never use anything else on them because this is the only product which really works.
My dog has been miserable for years! If he goes somewhere and gets bitten by just one flea he is so allergic to them. He will itch and chew to the point he has a yeast infection. It just keeps spreading until he has chewed himself bald in just a couple days. We constantly have him to the vet to treat for this and it has been costing so much. Cost isn't the issue though of course. My issue is that I didn't have something that would keep him from being miserable. His antibiotic runs out when he gets cleared up and it all starts over again. We do keep him on flea preventative year round, but just 1 flea bite and he is inflamed. This shampoo is well worth the money. Using this stuff weekly is a miracle! The first time I washed him in it, within 30 minutes he looked like he would if he had been on antibiotics for 3 days! He looks so much better. After his bath, he fell asleep. A good sound sleep that I haven't seen him get in several days since he has been chewing day and night. His smell is gone too! It is really thick when it goes on. I sprinkled a little bit (not enough to rinse it) of water on it so I could get it through his thick fur around his neck. The most difficult part was keeping him in the tub for 10 minutes while the product sat on his skin. If you worry about a reaction, test it on a small patch of your dog prior to doing his whole body. I was worried about him because his skin is so sensitive, but he had no problems with it. He is also mostly white, and it left him nice and white and clean looking too! I really wish I had taken a before and after picture to show. My husband couldn't believe it was the same dog when he came home from work.
Malaseb Shampoo is available in 250 ml (approximately 8 oz) and 500 ml (approximately 16 oz) bottles. The 250 ml bottle is on sale for $19.99 and the 500 ml bottle is on sale for $29.99.
No, on the contrary. This product leaves the fur and skin in excellent condition as long as you leave it on for the specified time. I don't know what flea treatment you are using, but if it is a wash, you would put the flea treatment on after you wash your pet with Malaseb.
Kaytie, since cats have different metabolisms than dogs, and also may ingest topical products during grooming, it is important never to use products on cats that are labeled for use only for dogs.
