Doesn't work well for my Lhasa
My Lhasa Apso has chronic dry eyes & I was looking for some cheaper alternatives to the expensive drops from the vet. The Liquid Tears seemed to make his eyes even more dry. After the first dose, you could see his eye looking dry. I couldn't use them after the second dose because his eyes looked so horribly dry. It looked like he had not had any eye drops in weeks. I would not use them again for my Lhasa.

A Wonderful Product
I have a Westie who was diagnosed with decreased tear production or dry eye. The diagnosis was accompanied with a very expensive medication for daily use. I queried 1-800-PetMeds for a possible alternative. I have been using LiquiTears for almost a week now and what a difference!!! My Westie's eyes are clearer and the thick build-up from dryness has all but disappeared. Thank you for recommending this product. It works and for a fraction of the cost..

Works Great!
Wow!! My vet gave me cyclosporine for my dachshund's dry eye and he hated the drops! I used it for about a month and his eye was getting no better. I decided to use these drops and within a week his eye is already starting to look great!! I hope it continues to look better as I continue to use these drops. They don't seem to irritate him as much either. I give 1-2 drops 3 times a day.

LiquiTears for Dry Eye
Our 11 year old shih tzu/lhasa was diagnosed with Keratoconjunctivitis (KCS)--the yucky goop in her eye and the Schirmer tear test confirmed the diagnosis (see below for more about that). The vet prescribed cyclosporine ointment. As the ointment can takes weeks before results are noticed and as it seemed the goop wasn't getting any better, I sought additional support for Freckles. LiquiTears is an awesome, affordable solution! It made an amazing difference in her progress. I use a drop upon waking, one mid day and one in the evening. It's really easy to administer the drops--Freckles couldn't care less about having the drops put in. My hope is that she will eventually only need drops once or twice per day as she continues with her cyclosporine treatment, but since it's so easy and affordable, I'm all good with however many times a day she needs the drops. At this point, I can tell when I've missed giving her a dose or two, as her eye starts to goober up quickly....so no changes to our daily ritual yet! (Please note: these drops are not a cure! Neither is the ointment. This will be a life-long issue.)
If you are wondering how we figured out Freckles might have KCS, it was pretty tough to miss: all that goopy, yucky, disgusting, discolored mucus building up daily in her eye suggested something was mighty wrong. The vet did a Schirmer tear test--which is not painful at all for the dog, isn't expensive (well, relatively speaking--everything at the vet understandably costs money!) and takes about a minute to complete--to make sure that's what we were dealing with.

Outstanding Product!!!
I have a small 12 year old Maltese who with other medical conditions has very dry eye condition, especially when she awakes in the mornings... I've found LiquiTears the very best of any medication I've tried for this condition.... I put a drop or two in each eye, which she doesn't appear to mind at all & actually think she looks forward to it knowing the results... It elimanates the dryness, her eyes become moist within a short time & I can clean the matter from them & she's once again comfortable.... The majority of the time I only have to do it once a day, however, there are times that it is morning and evening & again, she doesn't mind..
She loves this product & the results, therefore, her Mommy is a happy camper as well.....:) IMO, 1800PetMeds is a great company & order all of my little ones' meds & oftentimes prescriptions as well from them.... Highly recommend the company as a whole for your 'four legged loved one'... The LiquiTears, shoud he or she have the uncomfortable dry eyes is an outstanding product solution & solves the issue.......I've been using it for a long time now, it truly works & highly recommend it for once used, she once again is comfortable without discomfort in seconds......

I-Drop Vet Plus is not the same as LiquiTears. While both products are used to lubricate the eye, the ingredients of the 2 products are very different.
LiquiTears is not the same thing as tacrolimus. That being said, LiquiTears is used for dry eyes. Tacrolimus stimulates tear production whereas LiquiTears is an artificial tear dropped into the eye.
