How it works:
The active ingredients include glucosamine and chondroitin. Glucosamine is a natural compound that is found in healthy cartilage in both humans and pets. It helps hydrate healthy joints by increasing the production of molecules that bind and hold water in the cartilage. Healthy cartilage provides cushioning which helps protect a pet's joints while exercising. Many believe that it provides clinical benefit in the synovial fluid by strengthening cartilage and aiding glycosaminoglycan synthesis. Further research on the effectiveness of glucosamine is still needed, but many of our customers find it to be very beneficial to their pets.

How this product should be used:
The usual initial dose for cats less than 10 lbs is 1 capsule sprinkled on food once a day. The usual initial dose for cats over 10 lbs is 2 capsules sprinkled on food once a day. After the initial period of 4 to 6 weeks the capsule may be administered every other day to maintain the cat.

What are the side effects:
Side effects are rare but may include diarrhea.

What special precautions are there:
This product is not intended to be used in place of other treatments in the presence of an infection, or if surgery is needed.

In the event of overdose:
Overdose is not likely but may result in diarrhea.

How should I store this product:

Cat won't eat it My cat will not eat his food with the product mixed in to the canned & dry cat food. I gave him one capsule per day for one week. Since stopping, he has resumed his normal eating habit. 04/09/2012

no more limping I have an older cat who began limping a few months ago. I've been giving him joint enhancer for cats sprinkled on his dry food for two weeks. He has had some days with no limping. Today he limped a little but nothing like before. It is really helping him to feel better. 11/03/2011

Reaction to Joint Enhancer My cat "Bear" is an outdoor male, aggressive, friendly cat. However, he had begun to walk like an mummy all stiff leg, like it hurt to just move an inch. He tried to move but sometimes it hurt so bad he can't. This joint enhancer has produced a surprising result. He is moving just like a kitten. He has the fluid movement that he had before. He has now begun to walk and run without the stiffness. He also looks a hundred per cent better. 08/24/2011

Joint Enhancer for Cats is a supplement, not a drug. As such the benefits to its use are not seen immediately. In many instances, it can take 4 to 6 weeks before you see the benefits of Joint Enhancer for Cats.

My joint enhancer came in capsul form. I break the capsul andI sprinkle it over the cat food that has gravy with it. Stir it up and the cats love it. They like the gravy and the flavor is already there in the food. Just don't overfeed and follow the instructions. This works for house, feral, and domestic cats. Which I have.

I did not taste this so I am not sure:-) I just opened the capsule and mixed it with most desirable canned food. My cats love tuna water (tuna cans we eat) and I mixed it with that too.

Can the capsule be opened and the powder mixed with/dissolved in water to give by oral syringe if the cat won't eat it on or in food?

With two cats, we split a capsule into the separate feeding bowls, add soft cat food and stir. I see no reason you coudn't dissolve the powder into water and, if the cat will allow it, squirt it into the cat.

We have been unable to keep the other cat from eating the joint enhancer. It seemed to help the second cat as well.
