Great for the eye area
Like many goldens, my Pancho has skin allergies that get especially bad in spring. He also has eye issues - not producing any tears - which causes the poor thing to scratch his eyes all the time. I use Itch Stick in combination with lubricating eye drops, and it does the trick. The Itch Stick is gentle enough to be used in the eye area, and it stops scratching. After a few weeks, his eyes looked much better and hair started growing back.

Better than expected
My shih tzu has skin allergies and is constantly biting and scratching. I had purchased "Be Soothed" Tea Tree Oil Spray a few times but I noticed this works better. I enjoy the quickness of application so my dog doesn't have time to run away. With the spray, it would get stuck because it was oily and by the time I could spray my dog she was running away. Now, even in the middle of the night, I just apply the stick #it's like a deodorant stick# and make sure you apply it to the skin not the hair. I find it very easy to use and it is effective but the best remedy is to get her groomed and use a soothing oatmeal shampoo for her delicate skin.

Awesome
This product is great. It is the only thing I can put on my jack russell when his allergies cause him to dig an scratch his skin that will deter him from doing it.

I would buy it again
My little shih zhu has been licking his front paws until they became red and irritated. The vet put him on several standard different medications, all giving him side effects so we had to stop them. Itchstick seems to work. I cannot put it directly on his paws because he doesn't like to see anything coming near him, so I put some on my fingers and rub it in. He does stop biting. I would buy it again. I wish it also came in liquid form so it would be easier to apply.

However, he still scratches and chews frequently. One of these areas is "under the tail" (yeah... that whole vicinity). Is it safe to use in such an area?AnswersA: yes it is safe to use in that area. There is a bitterness to this product so a side benefit is your pet will likely stop the chewing. The relief this product produces is amazing. I recommend you try it.AnswersQ: Will this product hurt him in ANY way?Images for this Question (click to see full-size image) AnswersAnswersA: Not that I could tell. I accidently smeared some on the carpet and just wiped it off with a little carpet cleaner. There is no visible signs of discoloration of any kind.Note: Any trademarks are the property of their respective companies. |
