What is the most important information I should know about Genesis Topical Spray: Genesis Topical Spray is a prescription medication FDA-approved for use on dogs weighing at least 8 lbs and at least 1 year old. Do not get Genesis Topical Spray in the pet's eyes. Use only in a well-ventilated area and wear gloves when applying the medication.

What is Genesis Topical Spray: Genesis Topical Spray is a topical corticosteroid used for the control of itching associated with allergy dermatitis.  Genesis Topical Spray may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this guide.

What should I discuss with my veterinarian before applying Genesis Topical Spray on my pet: Do not apply Genesis Topical Spray to your pet if the pet has a serious bacterial, viral, or fungal infection. Genesis Topical Spray may weaken the pet's immune response and its ability to fight infections. Tell your veterinarian if the pet is pregnant or lactating.

How should this medication be used: Apply this medication exactly as directed by your veterinarian. If you do not understand the directions ask the pharmacist or veterinarian to explain them to you. Apply sufficient pump sprays to uniformly and thoroughly wet the affected areas while avoiding run-off of excess product. Genesis Topical Spray should be applied twice a day for 7 days, once a day for the next 7 days, then every other day for an additional 14 days for a maximum of 28 days of therapy. Store Genesis Topical Spray at room temperature. Keep this medication away from children and pets.

What happens if I miss applying a dose: Give the missed dose as soon as remembered. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, give the regularly scheduled dose. Do not apply a double dose.

What happens if I overdose the pet: Seek emergency veterinary medical treatment. An overdose is more likely to occur due to the medication being used over a long period of time beyond the recommended 28 days. Symptoms of overdose may include weight gain, panting, increased thirst, hunger and urination, vomiting, diarrhea, and Cushing's syndrome.

What should I avoid while applying Genesis Topical Spray on my pet: Wear gloves when applying Genesis Topical Spray. Use only in a well-ventilated area. Do not get spray into pet's eyes. This medication should not be used beyond 28 days.

What are the possible side effects of Genesis Topical Spray: If any of the following serious side effects occur, stop applying Genesis Topical Spray and seek emergency veterinary medical attention: an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; swelling of the lips, tongue or face; hives); increased blood pressure or sudden weight gain. Other less serious side effects may occur. Continue applying Genesis Topical Spray and talk to your veterinarian if your pet experiences increased urination and hunger; discomfort; sneezing; watery eyes. Other side effects may also occur. Talk to your veterinarian about any side effect that seems unusual or bothersome to the animal.

What other drugs will affect Genesis Topical Spray: Do not apply any other over-the-counter or prescription medications, including herbal products, during treatment with Genesis Topical Spray without first talking to your veterinarian.

Where can I get more information: Your pharmacist has additional information about Genesis Topical Spray written for health professionals that you may read.

Great Product, Works Well One of my dogs is a Shar Pei/Lab mix. He has terrible allergies. Genesis immediately relieves the itching and biting of his entire body. I've been using Genesis Spray for years. 08/19/2013
Great Stuff This made my beagle mix feel so much better. His skin was so raw from scratching and biting so much. Using this twice a day stopped the itching and the whole area by his hind legs and tail were healing and getting hair back. 08/12/2013
This product is amazing! My GWP, 75 lbs and 12 years old developed allergies last year. Her symptoms were extremely itchy skin and crusty spots on her torso. Vet immediately prescribed predisone. Within two weeks of weaning her off the symptoms would return. We went through this 3 times. Then the Vet prescribed the Genesis Topical Spray. It really worked like a miracle! This year she had the itchy symptoms again. I discussed skipping the oral steroids and going straight to the Genesis with my Vet. He said to go ahead and try it. Again, immediate relief for my dog! Just to clarify, My dog has food allergies and environmental allergies, confirmed with blood allergy tests. We regulated her food allergies with a diet change. She had been symptom free until the springtime allergy season. The symptoms of itchy skin she is displaying this year are the environmental allergies. This spray is wonderful! She was so miserable and now has relief! 06/13/2013
Works great! We have a 3 year old English Bulldog and live in AZ. Every summer she struggles greatly. This immediately stopped her itching and cleared up the areas on her that were dry and itchy. 05/31/2013
Genesis Topical Spray We have a 2 year old blue nose pitbull who has severe allergy's. This spray is a miracle spray and the only thing that keeps him from scatching himself all day. It quickly heels his skin and stops him from scatching all the time. Highly recommend.... A must have for all Pitbull owners with skin issues of any kind..... 01/08/2013

My dog has allergies in between her paws and they are flaring up. Can this be sprayed in between her paws--or will the moisture being trapped in between them be bad for her?

Answer:
you can use it in between the toes/paws. Spray it, and then try and distract your pet to give it
a chance to dry. Maybe give a treat or throw a toy around for a little while. Good Luck !

Does exposing Genesis spray to excessive heat negate the effects of the spray? It was left in a car in the deep south for several days.
