Frontline Plus for Cats & Kittens 8 weeks or older:
I have read many reviews that state that Frontline does not work on their fea/tick infested pets. It is not meant to. It is a preventative medicine - it will keep them from getting fleas and ticks. Please see my review and some helpful tips below.
I have been using Frontline on my dog for 4+ years now and I have never had a single problem with fleas or ticks. We take daily walks in the woods by my house and she is out in the country with me every weekend. I treat my dog all year. You can treat seasonally, but since we are outside in various places every day I choose to treat her all year. She even remained flea free when a roommate brought home a stray with a severe flea problem. I will be using this product for the life of my dog.
For those with flea/tick problems: -Again, this is a preventative medicine - not meant to treat an existing infestation. -Treat the problem first - wash your pet with a shampoo designed to treat fleas or remove the tick from the pet's skin. Once the animal is clean treat them with Frontline to prevent a reinfestation. -You also need to treat your house - fleas will get into the carpet, furniture and fabric in your house and then return to your pet. There are products to help you clean your house from fleas. -Don't bathe your pet or let them get really wet for a couple of days after treatment - the medicine will wash off (partially) and be significantly less effective. It is best to bathe your pet before applying Frontline.
I have 5 chihuahuas and have always used Frontline plus....but this past year it did not work well at all. Either they are getting immune to it, or they are putting less of the flea chemical in it. I heard there was a lawsuit on the patent of the chemical??? Anyway, I tried Advantix II and had to use it every 3 weeks. So I don't know what to do, I guess I will try Advantix II again, but it may be that the fleas are getting like viruses.....they get immune!!!!!
i have enjoyed doiubg business with PET-MEDS, it is very handy and the price is good, I recently had to send an order of FRONTLINE BACK because I was sent TWO orders. I will order again in the future. Pat Dallas does well on FRONTLINE however she picks up fleas on our walks, as a consequence, she gets tapeworms from chewing the fleas. Recently I have been spraying her lower body with AVON SKIN SO SOFT, hopefully that will prevent future flea infestations, which I treat withCAPSTAR.
My experience with 1800 petmeds was great! The worming product I got for my dog worked fantastic and I was anxious to get him on the flea control we also got for him. We tried Frontline, yet we still have fleas. They are now attacking both my cat and my dog. I was hesitant to look for another product as Frontline has worked in the past, but I have to do something! I will be happy to purchase from petmeds as their service was great, just don't know about Frontline, I feel my money was wasted.
Although I have not order from petmeds, i intend too, i must comment about frontline. I have used this product many years, but i can say this year has NOT impressed me with this product at all. Even after use each month, my dog continues to have fleas and ticks, I have been very disappointed this year. Even my vet states that the product is not working as well as it use too.
Frontline for dogs and cats, my animals have been on frontline since they were born, now they have fleas and I cant seem to get rid of them, the dog is just going nuts, the cats scratch quite alot. I always have and still treat them all every 30 days. What can I do to get rid of this problem?
