What is FiproGuard™ Plus Dog (Generic to Frontline Plus)?
FiproGuard™ Plus is the generic equivalent to Frontline® Plus—it contains the same active ingredients (Fipronil and (S)-methoprene) in the same concentrations, making FiproGuard™ Plus an affordable, effective option for flea and tick control. Just as with Frontline® Plus, FiproGuard™ Plus is a topical treatment that protects dogs against fleas, ticks, chewing lice, flea eggs and flea larvae.
FiproGuard™ Plus is also effective against common tick species, including deer ticks (the major carrier of Lyme disease), brown dog ticks, American dog ticks, and lone star ticks.
FiproGuard™ Plus is a generic equivalent to Frontline® Plus that is manufactured by Sergeant's Pet Care Products, not by Merial, the makers of Frontline® Plus.
For a generic flea and tick product for cats, we recommend Fiproguard Cat.
Fiproguard Plus for Dogs 1-22 lbs is out of stock, use Fiproguard Dog which also contains fipronil.

How it works:
FiproGuard™ Plus contains fipronil, which is a broad-spectrum insecticide. It is a slow-acting chemical that disrupts the central nervous system of fleas and ticks. It also contains (S)-methoprene, an insect growth regulator that kills flea eggs and larvae. The active ingredients in FiproGuard™ Plus are stored in your pet's sebaceous glands, and during the 30 days after application, they are wicked out of your pet's hair follicles and continuously re-applied to the coat, offering long-lasting, waterproof protection.
Cautions:
Although allergic reactions are rare, they are possible. Contact your veterinarian if your pet shows any signs of a reaction after you apply FiproGuard™ Plus.
Do not use FiproGuard™ Plus for Dogs on cats.
Do not apply more frequently than every 4 weeks.
FiproGuard™ Plus for Dogs ships to all 50 states.

Aloha, Living in Hawaii, the flea situation is pretty severe. We have an arsenal of products and decided to try Fiproguard since i seemed like a great deal. Well you get what you pay for. We noticed fleas after less than a week. Not wanting to apply any other products for at least a month, we have been bathing and flea comb. Today my darling Elvis was infested, so I put Advantage on him. I use this and Frontguard and will just have to pay for the real deal. I can not figure out how the same ingredient does not have the same effect. Fiproguard needs to go back to the lab and reformulate. Don't waste your money. Maybe I can work out a discount on my next order since this product did not work. PetMeds is great to work with!
I purchased FiproGuard Plus for dogs instead of Frontline Plus because it was so much cheaper. Five days ago I gave my German Shepherd Dog the first application of this brand. Today I found two live ticks on him.
I have used Frontline Plus on him all his life, the last 8 yrs and he NEVER had any fleas or ticks.
Do not purchase this product if you want it to kill and repel ticks. I can’t speak for its ability to kill and control fleas, as we don’t have fleas here this time of year.
From now on I will pay the extra money for Frontline Plus.
I felt this product was a waste of money. I wouldn't want anyone to purchase it. I have owned dogs for many years. I ordered this product because of the price point. It didn't work on my dogs at all. I am still finding fleas and they are still scratching like crazy. I know now that you get what you pay for when it comes to flea medications. Pay for the good stuff and get rid of the fleas. I am going to.
Not worth the savings. Tried 1 application of Fiproguard + and it doesn't work. Found lots of fleas on my dog and now on my indoor cat. Luckily I have foam to kill fleas on my cat which I also used on my dog until I get Frontline Plus. Apparently, the inactive ingredients do matter as I never had a problem with Frontline.
All Fiproguard Plus is manufactured in the United States unlike all Frontline Plus which are manufactured in France. Neither product requires FDA approval since they are not drugs. They are insecticides and regulated by the EPA instead.
You can apply Fiprogard Plus once your pet's fur is completely dry. Another consideration might be to apply Fiprogard Plus first, then wait 24 hours at which point you could bathe your dog.
I applied the chemical wrong. I dropped the chemical where I saw the most fleas which was around her chest area, and massaged the chemical throughout her whole body. Will this still be effective? Should I give my dog another dose?
No. The product works best when applied on the back of the neck. This will allow the medication to spread itself evenly, providing a better efficacy. It is not recommended to re apply another dose. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks before re applying the medication.
Cats do not have the physiology in their bodies to metabolize certain ingredients contained in this product as compared to dogs. This will harm your cat.
The FiproGuard Plus for cats has a different percentage of active ingredients than FiproGuard Plus for dogs, because cats metabolize medications differently. I'm very sorry, but we do not currently carry FiproGuard Plus for cats.
