What is this product used for: The FURminator for Dogs is a de-shedding tool designed for removal of undercoat and loose hair on long and short-haired dogs.
How this product should be used:
For best results shampoo and dry your pet's coat before using the de-shedding tool. Make sure the coat is COMPLETELY dry before grooming. Be sure to select a work area that is easy to sweep or vacuum.
Before you start, perform a complete inspection of your pet for cuts, bruises, abrasions, sores or skin conditions. Your pet's coat can hide these skin conditions; please be sure to inspect your pet closely. DO NOT USE the FURminator for Dogs if any of these skin conditions exist. Take your pet to a veterinarian for professional treatment.
Directions for use
* Before using FURminator for Dogs on your pet, inspect and remove any tangles and/or matting from your pet's coat with proper grooming tools.
* Always start from the head and move down the body and comb with the blade and teeth angled toward the coat. Do not use on or around sensitive areas like ears, paws, legs and genitals.
* Pull tool slowly and gently with long, smooth strokes, in the direction of hair growth. Stroke up and away from pet's skin. Do not use repeated strokes in the same area and do not apply too much pressure on the tool as you comb. Rough combing can lead to skin irritation and discomfort. Pets with sensitive skin may suffer brush burns even with light combing. If you notice any redness or irritation, stop using the tool.
* When finished, always store the tool and any replacement blades in a safe place, out of the reach of children.
