What is the Expedition Pet Stroller?

Wherever your travels take you, you can now take your pet or pets along for the ride in the sleek and stylish Expedition Pet Stroller. This stroller, which can hold up to 145 lbs, is great for large dogs or several smaller pets. The stroller is sturdy, durable, and handles effortlessly. The top also folds down so that it can be stored in your car trunk. Pet strollers like the Expedition Pet Stroller are ideal for helping senior or arthritic dogs, and those that have recently had surgery. The Expedition Pet Stroller is also available in two colors - Burgundy or Blue Sky.

One large dog or multiple small-medium dogs & cats up to 145 lbs

Other Pet Strollers Also Available:

Ultra Lite Pet Stroller
Sport Pet Stroller
Special Edition Pet Stroller

How it works:

Zip open the front loading flap and place your pet inside. You can choose to leave the flap open or zipped up. The mesh helps to keep bugs out while still maintaining maximum ventilation. The Expedition Pet Stroller works like a regular stroller, and has special features to provide your pet or pets with a safe and secure environment. The safety features include: a tether leash inside that allows you to hook your own leash to it; front wheel locks that prevent wheels from swiveling on uneven terrain; shock absorbers to maintain a smooth ride. It also has lots of other features for convenience, including: a "pet parent tray" that provides easy access to personal items like keys, a water bottle and your pet's favorite treats; adjustable handlebar height. The stroller has top and front windows that can be zipped up to keep pets securely inside (like a "crate on wheels") or unzipped with window mesh rolled up. The top window allows your pet to view you as you push the stroller (great for anxious pets) and allows you to easily place your small pets into the stroller.

The Expedition Pet Stroller is for pets only.

How to Use
  • Slide back wheel on axle. Push in axel until it clicks. Pull on wheel to make sure the wheel is engaged. Repeat on other side.
  • Position stroller base upside down with the posts facing upward.
  • Place front wheels on stroller by clicking them into the 6" posts on the bottom of the stroller. Pullup to make sure wheels are locked.
  • Take the rear wheels (on axel with brakes) and lock them into the 2" posts by placing leg tube over the posts and pressing down until they click. Pull up to make sure wheels are locked.
  • Place stroller so wheels are on the ground and back wheels are facing you.
  • Lift right and left side of stroller up. Secure the support bar that goes from the left and latches down on the right side.
  • Put on the handle by pulling both trigger-like buttons on each inside of the handle and by placing handle-ends into the handle locking mechanisms on each side of stroller. Choose height level (1 or 2), let go of trigger-like buttons. Pull up on handle to make sure it is securely locked.

Ensure stroller is completely erected and check that all locks are engaged before placing pet in stroller.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Quality I bought this stroller for my aging and arthritic 70lb lab a few months ago. I've used it maybe once a week or less, and last night the wheel broke off, WHILE I WAS PUSHING MY DOG IN THE STROLLER. Thank goodness we were close to home. I've looked around and it doesn't doesn't seem like there are any good quality strollers for large dogs. What a disappointment to throw all that $ away!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I had to have this stroller replaced due to the seams coming apart. It is suppose to support 150 pounds. The weight of my dog is 84 pounds so this shouldn't have been the reason for the seams pulling apart. I called Petmeds and they sent a replacement, now this one is also doing the same thing. Petmeds is refunding the cost of the stroller.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic!!! I ordered the Expedition stroller for large dogs for our large standard poodle Ben who is going on 14 yrs. of age. It has been a godsend! Ben walks until he tires & then he is placed in the Expedition stroller. Ben loves it so much! This is obvious. As an added perk, it is also great exercise for me (age 73) to push him. Living in Maine, we have taken Ben on several treks, including several expeditions to Cape Elizabeth, South Portland, where the gorgeous lighthouse dwells. We love the stroller, including its shock absorbers. Now we'll have this for our younger standards when they become aged. it's worth its weight in gold!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatest Investment I have a 10 year old American Pit Bull Terrier who has knee surgery and who has terrible arthritis. Walks are my APBT's most favorite thing, however, over the past two years they have been dwindling down. After purchasing the expedition stroller, we have been able to have more frequent walks. She usually starts off walking, then after a few houses her gait slows down drastically and she goes in the stroller. I walk and she sits comfortably in the stroller with her head popping out of the top. I did put a memory foam pad on the bottom of the stroller to make the ride cushier for her. I would highly recommend this to anyone with an older puppy who still wants to go on walks but physically can't. This stroller has brought me and my APBT so much joy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A few months ago I purchased the Pet Expedition for my dog who has had two hip surgeries in the past years and now just had an ACL repair. In the past couple of months I have used this at least twice a day every day. We used to walk 2 miles a day before her surgery and had to cut down to going around the block as that is all she could walk. Now we walk a mile and go to the park and she gets out and runs around and then gets back in her "stroller" and we walk home and she has no pain. Without this stroller my dog would be depressed sitting at home and now she is able to go on walks with her dog brother and she absolutely loves it. I put a small dog bed in to cushion the bottom. One of the very best purchases I have ever made. It is a lifesaver and we love it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Free at last! My two Bichons had been confined to the house after the 11-yr-old (24 lbs) had surgery to remove bladder stones, and had to refrain from strenuous activity/walking long distances for several weeks afterward, and after the 10-yr-old (14.5 lbs)developed back/hip problems and could no longer tolerate long walks. They both still BEGGED to go on their daily walks, and looked so depressed being stuck in the house -- and I felt so guilty leaving them home every time I went out. I ordered the Expedition stroller from PetMeds, after extensive shopping and pricing all over the internet. It was shipped within 24 hours, and arrived cross-country within a week. I had it out of the box/packing and snapped together -- no tools required! -- yay! -- in 20 minutes -- put it into the back of my Sienna van -- didn't even need to fold it down, but I easily snapped the handlebar into low position to clear the opening of the van, locked the back-wheel brakes, and it stayed put in the back of the van while I was driving -- and off we went to the bay, for a long, glorious walk in the fresh air! I LOVE the design -- low to the ground, with easy access and plenty of ventilation. As another reviewer had noted, the bottom platform doesn't have a lot of padding, but that's remedied easily enough, with a thick towel or blanket. My dogs walk as far as they can tolerate, and then into the stroller they go, and I can continue on for as long as I want, without worrying about having to carry them back to the car. I like being able to unzip and roll up the net "windows," so they can stick their heads out and enjoy the breeze. On the other hand, they zip closed easily and securely when needed. The pouches in back are handy for carrying their water bottle, and my keys, sunglasses, clean-up bags, etc. -- My only suggestion would be to make the pouches bigger. I clip the "Y" section of their two-dog leash to the strap provided inside the stroller, which I then attach to their harnesses when they're riding in the stroller -- just in case they're ever tempted to try to jump out to greet another dog when the "window" is open -- and they still have room to move freely within the stroller and get comfortable. One reviewer, 5'7", mentioned that the handlebar was a bit low, but I'm 5'8" tall, and the handlebar -- even in low position -- is high enough and comfortable for me, with no stooping or bending -- I wonder if that reviewer noticed that the handlebar is ADJUSTABLE, and will raise up for taller people. WE are VERY happy with this purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A godsend for my dog My dog is 11 years old and has horribly arthritic hips. We've done everything, but we know that she won't be with us much longer because walking (especially the stairs) are such a struggle. This stroller has changed our lives. She absolutely loves going for walks. I push her for about a mile, then take her out at the park so she can go potty and walk around and smell everything. Then she gets back in and we walk another mile back. As I'm pushing her, people always comment on how happy she seems. I do have to help her get her back legs in the stroller, but it's not a big deal at all. It took her a couple of walks to get used to it, and now she loves it! She is 65 pounds and I don't think a dog much larger would fit comfortably inside. I can't say enough good things about this stroller!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase I Love the stroller, it is very roomy and low to the ground. We have a Beagle Mix and she is a “long” dog, she can lay down in it comfortably. I wish the handle bar would be a little taller, I am 5’7 and I feel a bit hunched over at times when walking fast, but I am still very happy with it. I can once again enjoy walks with our 14 year old Beagle and 3 year olden Golden Retriever. When she gets tired she goes into the stroller and “relaxes” on a big fluffy pillow, while the Golden and I get to walk fast and get our exercise in. Win for all 3 of us. I have only used it on roads so far, I don’t know how bumpy it would be on grass, she is a little skittish and I don’t want to ruin a perfect thing for me at the moment. Would buy it again and recommended it to 2 friends in the same situation (older dog/young dog combo)

I live in NYC, so I'd be using this to get my 75lbs lab on the subway. Obviously, once off the subway we'd be able to walk without the stroller, so when it comes to collapsing, is it easy to carry once it is collapsed?

Asked by: J_D_Sutherland
This stroller weighs 33lbs and the dimensions once collapsed are 35.5"L x 25.6"W x 10.7H

does the pet stroller roll over sand at the beach?

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question. This stroller can be used at the beach but it may not roll smoothly due to the weight of the product and your furry pals that will be inside.

Can a large dog go up and down hills inside the stroller?

The stroller looks sturdy enough, but can it be used to take a dog up or down hills without the dog sliding out the front or the back? What is the floor of the stroller made of? is there enough traction for an older & arthritic dog to hold itself in place while going up or down a hill?
Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question. Yes, the stroller is sturdy enough to go up and down hills as needed. The safety features include: a tether leash inside that allows you to hook your own leash to it; front wheel locks that prevent wheels from swiveling on uneven terrain; shock absorbers to maintain a smooth ride.
