How it works:
The anti-adhesive technology in Epi-Otic Advanced Ear Cleanser uses glycotechnology that prevents pseudomonas bacteria from attaching to the skin surface. This process helps eliminate bacteria and yeast buildup and may prevent irritation. Epi Otic Ear Cleaner also includes anti-odor technology comprised of aldehyde complex which helps eliminate odors.

For animal use only. For topical use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not use in ears with ruptured tympanic membranes (eardrums).

What is this product used for: Epi-Otic Advanced Ear Cleanser is used in dogs and cats of all ages. It may be used to cleanse ear canals with severe otitis externa or prior to administration of other ear preparations in the treatment of otitis externa. Epi-Otic Advanced should not interfere with other ear medications.
Availability: Epi-Otic Advanced Ear Cleanser is a non-prescription (OTC) product.
How this product should be used: Shake well before use. Turn the white nozzle to open the product and then apply liberally into the ear canal. Gently rub the base of the ear and then wipe the interior of the ear flap with cotton or a cloth moistened with Epi-Otic Advanced Ear Cleanser. Use from two to three times a week to daily for routine use, before each ear treatment in the case of otitis externa, or as directed by your veterinarian.
What are the side effects: There are no reported side effects.
What special precautions are there: For animal use only. For topical use only. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact, flush eyes with water and seek medical attention if irritation persists. Do not use in ears with ruptured eardrums. Keep out of the reach of children.
In the event of an overdose: Contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency room.

My dog has floppy ears therefore can have more ear problems. My vet recomended Epi Otic Advance Ear Cleaner. I have been using this product for 2 years and has done very well for my dog. No ear odor no ear problems at all. GREAT GREAT product.
One of my two goldens got a really bad allergic reaction to this product, so I can't really recommend it. Although my other golden was just fine with it.
My dog has had chronic ear infections since she was a puppy and I have despaired of ever getting any control over them. Within a week of clearing up one infection, she gets another and always has this brown smelly gook in her ears. I had an earwash that was recommended by my vet that 1) she HATED 2) smelled hideous and 3) didn't seem to really work very well.
I have had this product for 4 DAYS and it has already cleared up her ears. She still doesn't like having her ears cleaned, but for some reason doesn't seem to hate this stuff as badly as the other one. I am amazed and thrilled - have been battling these infections for 4 years.

My 17 year old Cocker has had quite the history of ear infections and I have tried everything ...and I mean every home remedy and product out there. My veterinarian recommended the product and Sambo has not had an ear infection since I began cleaning his ears regularly with it. We are both so much happier!

Usually it is best to take care of the inflammation first because that really hurts them, and you can do that by using zymox with hydrocortisone or ask your vet for another type of steroid to bring down the inflammation and then you can take care of the inner ear, my dog has awful ear infections so I have been through this a million times!
The question is are you treating the ear infection with any type of medication. If so, the odds are it will also clear up the outer ear inflammation. However, you can use the ear cleanser on the outside if you wish.
