Cosequin For Cats

Miracle cure!!!
I have a large tabby who was EXTREMELY active as a younger cat. Not fat, just large. He topped out at about 16-17# for a number of years. He did "Xtreme sports" like jumping into the ally from the roof of house, etc. and that finally caught up with him. Now he is a bit thin, but good weight - about 9-10#, is nearly 15 years old and as you can imagine from years of jumping, quite arthritic - especially in hips. He has been receiving this supplement for about a month now & he is up & acting like a normal cat again!!! MUCH more active and doesn't yowl at you if you massage his hip area. I am so very very happy - He hops up the stairway now instead of literally dragging himself. I never expected that much improvement! He is wicked to try to "pill" so I use about 1/8 tsp of bacon fat & mix the granules into it, put it on the BACK of a small spoon & against his better judgment but without so many injuries to me, he allows me to wipe it on his tongue & the front of his face so he cleans it up. THUMBS UP TO A MIRACLE!!!!!!

Love this product
My almost 15 year cat was recently put on this supplement after he began having difficulty putting weight on his left front leg. Now, in less than half a bottle, he is like a kitten again! He chases our other cat with ease and enjoys terrorizing her!! Life is good again at our house.

She's like a kitten again
Our 8 year old tabby was having difficulty standing and walking with her back legs obviously hurting her. We began giving her cosequin and within two weeks she was acting like she did when she was only a year old. She jumps upon the couch now and seems very happy. I fully recommend this product to everyone.

Love it!!!!
My Himalayan is 12 years old and she stopped jumping up on the bed. I started giving her Cosequin just three weeks ago and she can jump up on the bed again!! I mix it with just a teaspoon of wet food and she eats it all.....no problem. I would recommend Cosequin.

Cosequin for Cats
My cat started using this when he was 13 (now 15), after we noticed he was having trouble jumping and landing. We saw improvement almost instantly. Though he's certainly not jumping and moving like his kitten days, he's more flexible than he had been. Also, he's a fairly picky-eater, and doesn't mind the sprinkles in his food at all. It really has made a huge difference. A few months ago, my husband and I had a mis-communication about changes we were making in his diet; unbeknownst to me, he had stopped giving the cat Cosequin. After a few days, I noticed the cat was very stiff, and reluctant to jump, and did not seem himself. Upon discussing the change with the hubby I realized how effective Cosequin was. We got the cat back on it, and he bounced right back.

32 Questions · 43 Answers Ask & Answer.Talk to other pet lovers about this product. Q: The capsule looks pretty big, and it is hard to give pills to my cat. Can I use a Pill Pocket with this?AnswersA: I don't know what a pill pocket is, my cats are always very difficult to pill. You can sprinkle the granules over food, which really put all my cats on a quick diet - none of them liked the taste. So the ONE cat I have that needs this product, I take about 1/8 tsp of bacon fat & mix the granules with it, scoop the little bit up on the BACK of a spoon & force it into his mouth, finishing up what doesn't come off on the inside onto the front of his face so he cleans himself up. He is getting very little fat - I use only enough to pick up all the granules. I don't want to try to give him any more fat than that. I originally tried by mixing it with a little bit of canned food (which he NEVER has had before) but he would fight it all the bits of food would fall all over so that is why I chose something a little sticky! Works great & boy has he improved amazingly in just a month. He is almost 15. Hope this helps you..A: Yes, you can use a pill pocket with Cosequin. Also, Cosequin for cats is a flavored sprinkle capsule. The sprinkle capsule is meant to be opened and the contents mixed with the cat's food. If your cat does not take the supplement contents when mixed into wet food, you can give Cosequin for cats using a pet piller which is found on 1800PetMeds webstie.AnswersA: No medication or supplement should be open and on your shelf more than 1 year. This is true for human and veterinarian medications. There is a "use by" date on the bottle.Q: He takes it every other day. 'Just wondering if anyone is using it daily? He seems to need it. The package isn't really clear either way. Thanks!AnswersA: I started using it on my near-15 year old tabby just a month ago. His improvement is miraculous and I don't use it every day because I can't always find him since he has become more active! But It is a mild supplement and as long as you stay on the low side of the guideline amounts (e.g., my cat is about 10# and I give him just 1 capsule that is for cats up to 9#) and I would feel comfortable giving that to him everyday. He gets it 2-3 days in a row but then not for a couple of days. If it was dangerous to use daily (I agree the package is ambiguous about this) I would not be concerned, personally. I'm not!AnswersA: The ingredients in the capsule itself are on the bottle of pills I received from 1-800petmeds. If you have not seen a bottle, they are:glucosamine chloride (derived from shellfish), sodium chondroitin sulfate, (derived from bovine cartilage), gelatin, natural chicken flavor, natural tuna flavor, water, manganese ascorbate mixed glycoaminoglycans, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, FD&C red #3, sodium lauryl sulfate, FD&C blue #1 Q: I didn't change anything else, so I am pretty sure it was the supplement. I did the trials a month a part and both resulted in what seemed to be a shellfish allergy.AnswersNote: Any trademarks are the property of their respective companies. |
