What is Cosequin DS Plus MSM?

Cosequin DS Plus MSM is a delicious tasting joint supplement for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and lifestyles. Cosequin DS Plus MSM is made with higher levels of glucosamine than Cosequin DS, and also includes chondroitin, which may improve flexibility. MSM is included to relieve pain and inflammation, and also helps maintain cell health.

How it works:
Cosequin DS Plus MSM tablets contain glucosamine which helps hydrate healthy joints by increasing the production of molecules that bind and hold water in the cartilage. Healthy cartilage provides cushioning which helps protect a pet's joints while exercising. Many believe that it provides clinical benefit in the synovial fluid by strengthening cartilage and aiding glycosaminoglycan synthesis. MSM is a sulfur compound found naturally in many foods such as cows milk, meat, seafood, and fruits and vegetables. MSM is added to joint supplements because of its effectiveness to relieve pain and inflammation of the joints. In addition, MSM also plays an important role as an antioxidant in helping to maintain healthy cells, especially in body tissue.

• Give Cosequin DS Plus MSM with your dog's meal or after feeding to avoid stomach upset.

Even works for young things!! Our 3 year old cocker spaniel, Bailey, suddenly would yelp when we touched her back and would refuse to jump up and give her Mom a hug. We knew there was something not right. We took her to the vet and were told she had L4-L5 inflammation. Along with her prescription meds we started her on the Coesquine DS Plus MSM and within 10 days she was like a new dog, running and leaping off the top of the steps and giving Mom "hugs" again. Brand New Dog My Dog is 9 years old and we moved to a house with hard wood floors. At first they did not agree with her but after giving her the cosequin for about 2 weeks we noticed a whole different dog. The wood floors and the sliding around don't seem to bother her much at all. I havent seen her jump off all fours in years and nor she is more spry than she has been in a long time. Like a said she is a whole new dog. 12/02/2011

Old Girls Still Have Fun Ouyr 14-yr old Goldie doesn't have a whole lot of stamina, but she runs and plays, especially now that the weather has turned cooler. Rolling in the grass, snuffling under pillows and climbing up on the couch certainly are not the indicators of a sedentary, arthritis-ridden older dog, and I ascribe this to 3 things: Her overall attitude, Rimadyl and Cosequin DS Plus. Scratching is not a known side effect of Cosequin. Scratching could be the result of dry skin. You might want to try Be Soothed for your dogs skin.

Can I give a portion of Cosequin DS Plus to my cat ?

I have two cats and only one needs the Cosequin, so a sprinkle on capsule won't work because they share food and I won't be able to control who eats it. My cat also likes chewables - he thinks they are treats.

No. Cosequin DS Plus MSM is for use in dogs only. You do not need to sprinkle the Cosequin for Cats onto food. You can give the capsule directly to the cat that needs it by using either a Pet Piller device or perhaps a Greenies Pill Pocket.
