What is Comfort Zone For Dogs?

Comfort Zone with Adaptil For Dogs is a plug-in diffuser that releases a calming pheromone. Just plug it into the room where your dog displays signs of stress, and get 24-hour control. Comfort Zone also comes in a spray that can be used on your dog's bedding.

For:

Dogs and Puppies

Benefits:
  • Reduces or stops stress-related behavior, including barking, whimpering and whining, chewing, urination, and defecation
  • Helps comfort dogs in stressful situations such as being alone in the house, having visitors, adjusting to a new pet or family member, moving, and visits to the veterinarian
  • One diffuser bottle lasts for approximately 30 days and covers up to 650 square feet
  • Odorless and nontoxic (does not affect humans)
  • Also comes in a spray
  • Refills are available
How it Works:

When you plug Comfort Zone into an electrical socket, it emits a scent that mimics naturally reassuring pheromones. It includes Adaptil (Dog Appeasing Pheromone), a proprietary formula that mimics the appeasing pheromones secreted by female dogs when nursing that sends a signal of comfort and safety to her puppies. When your dog senses the pheromone, he or she feels secure and comfortable, reducing anxious reactions and the urge to act out destructively.

Cautions:

Read all instructions before using. To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is necessary when the product is used near children. Do not put fingers or hands into the diffuser. Adult assembly is required. The surfaces of the diffuser reach high temperatures to create evaporation of active ingredients. These surfaces should not be touched when plugged in. Don't use this product with any other type of plug-in device, or place it underneath or behind furniture. When plugged in, do not touch with metal objects or wet hands. Harmful if swallowed. Call your physician immediately.

How to Use
Directions:
  • For Comfort Zone with Adaptil For Dogs Plug-in Diffuser: Remove the cap from the bottle. Screw the diffuser onto the bottle and tighten. Plug the diffuser unit into an electrical outlet in the room your dog spends the most time in. One bottle of the Plug-In Diffuser lasts approximately four weeks and covers an area of approximately 500-650 square feet.
  • Replace the bottle after 4 weeks. Use for 90 days for best results
  • Diffuser Maintenance: Oils may collect on the diffuser over time. To clean, remove the diffuser from the outlet and wipe it with a clean, dry cloth. If the diffuser is removed from the outlet, separate the refill from the diffuser and store it at room temperature in the upright position.
  • For Comfort Zone with Adaptil For Dogs Spray: Spray the area 15 minutes before introducing your dog. Use 8-10 sprays every 2 hours to help keep your dog calm and relaxed.
Tip:

When using Comfort Zone Spray, do not spray directly onto your dog.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I tried this product at the advise of my vet. I am looking for something to treat anxiety besides pills. I have seen no change in my dog since I started using it. The good news is 1800petmeds has refunded the full price of the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended--well worth the $$ I purchased this product after we got our 2ND German Sheperd puppy. The first puppy was/is really wound tight and the second puppy was a whiner. Not bad dogs just not "peaceful". The first night they slept through the night--whining was reduced to minimal and the wound tight puppy settled into a calmer presence. I recommend this product to anyone who thinks they need to help their dog be a bit calmer. We don't notice the diffuser--can't detect any odor--but the dogs have calmed considerably!! When we leave them home to run errands we are coming back to much quieter less stressed puppies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Transformation realized Yes we recommend this product as our 9month old Golden Retriever was mauling his food as well as always hyper and just couldn't settle down and as he grew it got know better until we found this product which seems to do the trick. He actually now leaves some food in his bowl and sleeps much better through the day and night. works continually 24/7 and only wish it was more reasonably priced for seniors of a limited lower income but we will continue using till we ane without it. Thank you Comfort Zone

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Calmer While Comfort Zone does not change my dog's personality, I do notice she is calmer and that little bit makes a huge difference to me. I highly recommend this product but don't expect miracles.

Multiple dogs only 1 has anxiety.

We have 3 dogs. Only one of them is experienceing anxiety. The other 2 have polar opposite personalities though. Our oldest is extremely laid back and lazy througout the day. The youngest is hyper at times, but nothing out of the ordinary. It is out middle dog that has anxiety. She chews her paws almost constantly. Will this product have any adverse effect on our older dog since he is already pretty mellow? I don't want him being any calmer than he his lol.
Asked by: stan26351
Hi there, great question, no worries, your dog that does not have any issues should not experience any reaction with this product.

Thank you for your question. This product is designed to keep your furry pals calm and relieve stress. We do suggest you speak with your vet prior to using this, as there are no listed side effects but we want to ensure your babies are safe.

Not sure that this is working, may end up returning

My dog is elderly and has developed separation anxiety over the past 6 months. She is destructive and urinates on the carpet and area rugs anytime I leave the house. I was hoping that this product would help alleviate these behaviors, but so far it has not. Now, I've only had the product a week, but I am leaving it plugged in 24/7. My home is very small. I only bought 1 diffuser because my dog only has access to the first floor of the house while I am gone, and the square footage on the first floor is not bigger than what is recommended on the box. So, how long should I give this before making the decision whether to return it? The box also says allow 3-4 weeks to start working, but then further goes on to say to use for 90 days for full effectiveness. I find this very confusing, especially considering that other customers are saying that they only plug in the diffuser as needed for stressful situations with their dog. Please provide some guidance on this. Thank you.

Can this product harm birds?

I have a pet cockatiel and do not want to use anything that will harm my bird.
Asked by: Tina
Comfort Zone with DAP uses a parrafin wax base to spread a species-specific pheromone to reduce some unwanted behaviors. The ambient effect is similar to an unscented candle. Birds are very sensitive due to their respiratory system, and if you do not use non-scented candles in the home, then we would not recommend using the diffuser. If there are no concerns using candles near your bird, the diffuser should be placed on the opposite wall of the birds at least 9 ft away or in another room.
