We love the calming collar. I have a nervous rescued dog,it relieves some of his tension. The scent is wonderful..this tends to relax all of us. It does not do the total trick but I do not like giving him any meds...
We have a really over active large 8 month old mix (large) that has selective actions. He knows treat, and "go outside", but does his own annoying thing with everything else. This collar did nothing. We have a nervous cat, and the cat calming collar was a charm. This dog needs and is going to get another kind or collar.
first time on my dog, she was calm for about one hour. Bought for excessive barking, but didn't work. if your dog is aggressive with barking. this will not work. all depends on your dog's personality Will not be buying again!
I have a 45 pound Red Heeler who is very anxious in the car. I tried The Calming Collar several times either alone or along with Quiet Moments and Anxiety Relief but saw no effect at all on my dog's behavior. He jumped around the car, whined and barked continuously just as always. Very disappointing.
Maybe this just works on some dogs better than others, the difference was instantly noticable when we put this on our mutt. Maybe it's because our dog was abandoned at a really young age (we really don't know how old he was) and this thing puts out hormones that are a lot like a mother dog might emit around her puppies. He is less nervous, (he used to bark at everything, even things falling over in the shower, I mean everything), less barky and marks less inside. It's been 2 months now and it still works. I'm not sure if it calms him so he can learn to be calm, or if just makes him feel better. We'll see how he acts as this one runs out.
The active ingredient in the Good Behavior Calming Collar is dog pheromone. This should not interfere in any way with the amitriptyline your pet is being given. You can use them together.
he bites your feet and also your hands when holding him. he is nine months old . he has an overbite and has had two teeth pulled plus has been spaded. please help thanks
Yes indeed, give it 30 minutes or less and he won't know what hit him. I use the collar for my Yorkie at night she sleeps in her crate and it works like a charm.
The Calming Collar releases a calming pheromone similar to what a mother dog produces to calm and reassure her puppies, so it would probably be soothing to your boxer puppy when you put him in his crate.
