My 3 finicky cats like this & it works!
My cats are picky and each have very different taste preferences. I was nervous when we ordered this product because other cat owners didn't have great success with it.
Two of our cats had gingivitis and breath that could kill a small child (this began after switching them to a grain-free diet). Our veterinarian recommended this product and gave us a small sample to try.
When we put the product in their secondary water bowl, the cats avoided it like the plague...but they didn't prefer that dish, anyway. Our vet agreed that we could put it in our cat fountain instead and let it run ~1 week prior to changing it out (directions state to replace water/CET solution everyday, and for a 10-cup ceramic fountain that seemed ridiculous & expensive).
We ordered this bottle, added it (as directed, 1 tsp CET for every pint {2 cups} of water) to our fountain, and our cats not only don't mind it, but are drinking MUCH more water. We left the other water bowl with plain water as an alternative and they rarely touch it.
And the most important aspect of this product is it works. Their breath has NO odor now and the gingivitis is reversing. One cat's gums are back to normal and the other's have significantly less redness. They've only been drinking the treated water for 1.5 weeks, so I'm hoping with time it'll continue to improve.

Really helps reduce tartar
I highly recommend this product! I have 2 Yorkies. Their teeth build up tartar easy. They do not like their teeth brushed and I could not see improvement with brushing. But after using this water additive the tartar was less and easier to remove. Their teeth look much better. They drink the water just like before, no change in the taste. I did buy a 2 cup container so I could measure the water and correct amt of additive. I fill their water bowl when needed.

Cats hate the water
I bought AquaDent because it said that my pets would never know it was there. It turned the water a pale green and obviously there must be some smell or taste to it because my cats will have nothing to do with it. The water bowl went untouched all day and I caught one of my cats trying to get a drink out of the toilet. Guess I will have to try something else. Maybe dogs like it - but my cats --- NO WAY!

Aqua Dent & Dog Shampoo
I've been dealing with Pet Meds for the past few years and have always been satisfied with their service. It is easy to order and prompt delivery of all items are assured. Aqua Dent breath freshner works very well and was recommended by my vet some years back. However, the price from Pet Meds is probably half of what I paid at the vets office. Frontline Plus for fleas is ordered periodically along with Interceptor for heatworm.
All excellent products. You can't go wrong with them.

I just found out that it contains Xylitol which is deadly to dogs. I have almost use one full bottle of this over a period of time and have noticed my dog getting very aggressive. I have stopped now and am returning the product to my veterinarian's office. You would think they would know better than to sell this stuff.
AnswersAnswer:Â What a great question. The following information appears on the label of C.E.T. AquaDent:Dr. Eric Dunayer of the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (APCC), board certified by the American Board of Toxicology, Inc. (DABT) and having a special interest in xylitol toxicosis, specifically states in a risk assessment paper written about C.E.T. AQUADENT Drinking Water Additive: Based on published studies of xylitol toxicity in dogs and the APCC's experience, proper use of this product (according to label directions) should not present a risk of hypoglycemia in dogs. In addition, no significant hepatic (liver) toxicity would be expected either. I hope you find this helpful. AnswersAnswer:Â NO!! It is not safe for any dogs. XYLITOL, an artificial sweetener that is safe for humans, is TOXIC TO DOGS. A small amount of this ingredient causes a spike in insulin and drops their glucose levels very quickly, and may kill the dog if veterinary intervention is not immediate.Reference: ASPCA Poison Control Center Press Release 8/21/2006
