What is Bravecto?

Bravecto is the first oral chew for dogs to provide up to 12 weeks of protection against fleas and ticks. One chew provides broad-spectrum and long-lasting protection that starts to kill fleas within 2 hours and controls 4 tick species: black-legged tick (a.k.a. deer tick), American dog tick, brown dog tick, and lone star tick. Bravecto eliminates current flea infestations and prevents new ones from developing for 12 weeks. With one chew, Bravecto is easier to give and less to worry about for you! Bravecto requires a prescription from your veterinarian.

NOTE: To protect cats against fleas and ticks for up to 12 weeks, use Bravecto for Cats.

For:

Dogs and puppies (over 4.4 lbs and 6 months of age or older)

Benefits:
  • With one dose, Bravecto resets the clock on flea and tick protection by providing effective prevention and treatment for both fleas and ticks for up to 12 weeks.
  • Close to a full year of protection with only 4 doses. No more monthly dosing!
  • No potential for messy application issues and no need to isolate from children or other pets after treatment
  • Fewer doses mean fewer chances to miss a dose decreasing the likelihood of having gaps in protection
  • Dogs love the taste!
How does Bravecto work:

After giving your dog Bravecto, the medication quickly reaches tissue fluids under your dog's skin. When fleas and ticks feed on your dog, they ingest Bravecto and die. Bravecto kills fleas, prevents flea infestations and kills ticks (black-legged tick (a.k.a. deer tick), American dog tick, and brown dog tick) for 12 weeks. Bravecto also kills lone star ticks for 8 weeks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I have used Bravecto now for 2 years, and it works Fantastic. My Aussie has not had one Tick on him. If anyone knows Aussie's it is very hard to find every Tick in that thick coat. I could not ask for a better product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product that really works! After trying topical flea product on the market with no results. Bravecto was recommended by my groomer. I ordered the product it arrived quickly and my Morkie ate it without hesitation. It worked almost immediately! Great results! My dog is happy and no longer itching. It has been only 3 weeks but there is no reoccurance! I even allowed him back in my bed! I will continue to use this product and only this product! I highly recommend Bravecto!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great flea and tick protection My dog takes these with no problem. He only have to take them once every 12 weeks. We live in the country and before Bravecto keeping ticks off of him was a battle. Now no more ticks and fleas on him.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! We are so happy we bought this product for our Australian Shepherd. It has done so well for her and the best part is that it's given only once every 3 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bravecto I gave Bravecto to my 8 month old puppy because he was diagnosed with two types of mange, and a friend told me about Bravecto because He was aware of the money I was spending on dips and medical bills from the vet, only to have the problem come back a few weeks later and having to start the process over and over again. I tried Bravecto I started seeing results within the first ten days FOR REAL! I haven't had ANY bad side effects and no more signs of mange, fleas or ticks!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No Problems I have seen other comments on social media that Bravecto is dangerous for dogs. Although I understand the logic that if anything your dog eats will kill fleas for 3 month from the inside out does not sound good for the dog..my dog has been on this for over 2 years and never any medical problems with it. I moved from a dry high desert in central Oregon to a southern coastal town in Oregon and never any problem with fleas. I thought about not giving it to her anymore but it worked and since she had been on it for a little over a year at that time I just continued.

My dog is exactly 22 pounds right now but can fluctuate one pound higher and lower than that. Which dosage of Bravecto should I go with for her?

Asked by: Andrea
Either dose should be fine to take, but I would consult with your veterinarian on the dose specific for your dog.

I have 2 Shih Tzu's each is 4 years old, they are both just under 10 lbs. What is the shelf life of BraVecto? Can/should i buy a 4 dose supply for each of them or do I need to order every 3 months? That would be $340 / year for Flea & Tick meds?

Asked by: Ralph357
This medication has a shelf life of over a year if stored correctly. Therefore, you can buy the 4 dose pack and that will last you a full year (dose given every 3 months). Hope this helps.

Is this a chewable? If my dog weighs 44 lbs, should I get the medium or the large size pill?

Asked by: Arod
Yes, this is a chewable medication given orally to your dog. If your dog weighs exactly 44lbs, I would give him the medium box (500mg dose)...the large is for dogs 45lbs or more. If your dog is over 44lbs, the large will not hurt him. Hope this helps.

I need 1 pill 22-44 lb and 2 pills for up to 22lb. can I cut the 22- 44 lb. pill in half for 2 smaller dogs? Instead of buying 3 pills. Thank you

Asked by: ShariJ
It is not recommended to cut the chewables in half, as this may lead to an under or over dose.
