Join PetMeds® To Support Florida Pets Displaced by Hurricane Ian

Hurricane Ian tore through southwest Florida, leaving millions of people and their pets without water, electricity, and shelter. Among those displaced are the cats and dogs in the care of Gulf Coast Humane Society (GCHS), a non-profit, no-kill shelter that sustained major structural damage to its facility from the catastrophic storm.

Currently, the shelter does not have power and is running off a small generator. Half of their roof has blown off, and outdoor play yards were completely destroyed. The extensive damage is still being assessed.

All cats and kittens, puppies and dogs, and staff that were sheltering in place at GCHS during the storm have survived, but the facility can no longer safely remain open, leaving the animals in need of refuge. So far, 57 pets have been transported to safety to Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.

How We Can Help Displaced Florida Shelter Pets
Recognizing the urgent needs of our West Coast and Central Floridian pet families due to the destruction of Hurricane Ian, PetMeds® is sending monetary donations, food, and supplies to the Gulf Coast Humane Society and the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. Plus, we have organized an employee donation drive. At PetMeds® we know pets are like family.
