\n Thank you for your question. Hydroxyzine and Benadryl are antihistamines of the same class. Using them together may increase risk of side effects such as drowsiness, blurred vision, heat intolerance, constipation, etc. If more sedation for your dog is needed, then an additional dose with Benadryl may be appropriate; however, if your dog needs additional antihistamine for allergic reactions, trying a different medication that has less sedating side effect such as Loratadine or Cetirizine. \r\nAccording to Merck Veterinary Manual recommends administering 2-4 mg of Benadryl per kilogram of body weight, two to three times a day (66/2.2 = 30 mg x 2 = 60 mg or 30 x 4 = 120 mg).\n
