As a holistic veterinarian, I always try and reach for more natural holistic or homeopathic products if possible, before reaching for stronger steroid or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications. The combination homeopathic formula in Traumeel is especially useful in providing dogs and cats relief from injuries including sprains, dislocations and contusions, as well as simply relieve the swelling from any injury or trauma. While this combination homeopathic contains numerous homeopathic ingredients, it is the arnica and belladona which provide most of the symptomatic relief in my experience and opinion. I have seen this product truly work miracles in trauma cases, however I will typically only use the product for short periods of time; Generally no more than 10-14 days. After that, if a pet is still limping than a more individualized homeopathic veterinary prescription should be prescribed by a trained classical homeopath, of side effects may occur. Traumeel tablets are certainly easy to administer and there is little risk of reaction when used short term. I give this product an overall ranking of 4.5 out of 5.
