Vet Review | I have found the glucosamine product Arthramine an economical tasty alternative to some of the more expensive joint supplements. I also like the addition of omega 3 fatty acids to the formula which also seem to help relief inflamed joints. Through regular use I have found that Arthramine relieves joint stiffness, arthritis pain and inflammation. I like the fact that it is made with all natural ingredients and in a formulation that most dogs love. It is very convenient to administer to especially larger breed dogs. The only rare problem I have seen is the development of occasional diarrhea in a rare pet. However I give this product an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5. | Dasuquin with MSM product review: There is not a bigger field of nutritional supplementation than those growing number of products used to help with a chronic health problem like degenerative joint disease and arthritis. This product is a wonderful combination of synergistic nutrients that work together in helping inflamed or degenerating joints, including glucosamine, chondroitan sulfate, MSM and Avocado/soybean. The manufacturer Nutramax has done a wonderful job in working with veterinary schools and researchers in demonstrating the efficacy of this product in clinical trials. An animal guardian can be assured that the quality and type of ingredients used in this joint supplement are genuine, which is always a concern when using other cheaper over the counter imitations sold at many health food stores. The biggest problem I have with this product is the big expense, as well as a palatability problem in a small percentage of animals. In my practice, I have found that the glycoflex line by Vetriscience has performed equally as well in my hands and at a reduced cost to Dasuquin. I have also found that the often reliable 1800petmeds super joint enhancer also can be worthwhile trying first due to the huge cost difference. No matter which glucosamine/MSM supplement one decides on trying, I do find that combining use with a wonderful antioxidant free radical scavenger like proanthozone from 1800petmeds, as well as an omega 3 fatty acid all work even better , when used together in soothing inflamed joints. However I must give this product an overall rating of a 5 with a taste/ease of use a 4. | Glycoflex II is middle stage product is an excellent choice for those pets with moderate joint problems or arthritis. What separates this product out from Glyco-Flex classic and Glycol-Flex I is the amount of glucosamine, perna canaliculus and MSM in the product, as the Glyco-Flex II does contain higher amounts of these nutrients. While these level of nutrients are not needed in dogs with mild arthritis, dogs with more severe joint problems do benefit from these and other added nutrients in the Glyco-Flex II product. It is made with the same trustworthiness and reliability as the other Glyco-Flex lines. This is often the product I will reach for that if in doubt about which Glyco-Flex formulation to use, you can¿t go wrong with this one, as it will not overdose or under dose any pets. As with the other products, the only cautions would be to check with your vet if a pet has a history of diabetes or urinary tract stones. I do love this product and give it an overall rating of 5 out of 5. With the development of these easy to administer chewable tablets, feline guardians do in fact find it alot easier to administer these wonderful joint supplements to often finicky felines. I just love the wonderful combination of synergistic ingredients in this product. Not only does it have the original Perna Canaliculus(green lipped mussel) of the Glycoflex classic formula, but also additional MSM, glucosamine, DMG and manganese to promote joint health and reduce inflammation. Given the lack of effective joint products available for arthritic or stiff felines, this will often be the first product I will reach for when treating lame or stiff cat. I will even start cats preventatively on this supplement past middle age to help slow down the progression of degenerative joint disease as they age. IT is very safe to use long term and a definite favorite of many veterinarians from the trustworthy Vetriscience company. I give this product an overall ranking of a 5 out of 5. |
