| Vet Review | Dasuquin for Large Dogs is one of the first products I will reach for in large breed dogs with complaints of stiff or arthritic joints, as the combination of glucosamine, chondroitin, and avocado/soybean make this one of the best products on the market. Because of the high incidence of joint problems in large breed dogs, I will often start using this product even preventatively in middle age dogs to help slow down the likely development of arthritis as the pet ages. I have especially found this product useful in both hip, as well as stifle joint problems.With the latter area, Dasuquin may help lessen inflammation and promote healing in those dogs with sprains of the cruciate ligament or those pets with partial tears of that ligament, where surgery may not be necessary. Dogs love this tasty soft chew that can be given as a treat, and I have seen no adverse effects of this product when used in practice. My only problem with this product is the use of artificial preservatives in the formulation of this chewable, however because of its wonderful combination of ingredients; I give this product an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5. | One of the most versatile and effective products I have used in practiceis Super Joint Enhancer from 1800petmeds. I have found it both helpful in older pets with increasing stiffness and spinal or joint arthritis, but also helpful in those pets recovering from surgeries. Compared to other products on the market it is quite cost effective with its synergistic combination of glucosamine and chondroitan sulfate and MSM. While relief is sometimes seen very quickly, more commonly it takes several weeks to see results with a nutritional supplement like this. I also find that it works best when used in conjunction with other nutritional supplements for the joints such as the antioxidant proanthozone, as well as fatty acids like be well from 1800petmeds. The only disadvantages I have seen with use of this product in my experience is occasional diarrhea in sensitive pets, and even more rarely problems with sugar regulation in diabetic animals. Otherwise I highly recommend this wonderful product!!!! I give this product an overall ranking of 4.5 out of 5. |
