Rated 5 out of 5 by from This has been very good for my oldest Cocker Spaniel "Maxie", who is 15 and suffers from arthritis. She is moving around much better now and seems to feel better as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT SUPPLEMENT! I have been adding this to my Rottweiler's food since he was a pup. He is 3 yrs old now & his black fur is beautiful & shiny. If you mix olive or flax seed oil with kibble, then add the powder, it will stick to the kibble & not go to the bottom. The oil is also very healthy for pets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great results Missing Link was recommended to me about 10 years ago and have used it on several dogs with great results. Better mobility and great benefit to the joints. I highly recommend it. I have always wondered if humans could also use the product since all the ingredients seem like it would benefit us also!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Missing Link is a life saver My Tubbie (Red Heeler) is 16 years old. For several week's we noticed She could not lift and walk by herself without our help, I became fearful, until one day a co-worker shared with me a 1/2 bag of "missing Link"! I begin to give missing Link daily to my Tubbie with her dry dog food, and WOW! a miracle begin to occur over and over, Tubbie begin lifting up and walking all by herself again with just a tiny small discomfort, but she even begin showing signs of happiness again! We know she is old, but missing link is allowing Tubbie to remain with us for a while longer and without too much discomfort. Thanks to "missing link" !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dogs love it I have used this product for about 6 months now on all 3 of my dogs, 2 which are German Shepherds and one is a mix.. My oldest shepherd is 10 years old and we have tried other joint supplements to help with his hips and nothing really worked as well as this product has. The missing link also seems to help the other 2 dogs and the shedding has slowed down considerably. Glad I came across this product and would recommend it for any breed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from my dog likes it! I have been giving my12 year old dog people pills for joint pain. Even broken in half, they have to be stuffed in a hot dog before she will touch them. Often, she eats the hot dog and spits out the pill. With the Missing Link, she dives right into her food and doesn't stare at it, like thank you for not making me eat hot dogs again!!! It's only been a few days, but it seems to as effective. She sure eats her food up, so it must taste pretty good, and no wasted meds now!!! I would recommend this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I've used this product for my cattle dog Lollie for about 2 years after she had some problems periodically with her front leg. Since I've been using it, she hasn't had any problems with limping at all. It mixes well with her food, so no issues with taking it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Thought about returning If you want a product which settles to the bottom of the bowl so the dog does not get most if it, buy this. It is a powder which MOST go in the refrigerator in 2 zip lock bags AS RECOMMENDED ON BAG. I don't like to mix the food I give with wet food as it is not good for the teeth so I have to make a soup each time I feed my dog. I look forward in being done with this so I can use something else. I hate this product and would not tell anyone to buy it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product I have 3 aging basset hounds, and the Missing Link has given them all easier movement. They walk longer and even play more. They all take it with their meals and have never refused to eat it. It's easy to administer and the bag lasts quite a long time, even with 3 dogs.
Date published: 2015-03-19
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Missing Link is a great supplement for my three aging dogs. I can tell by their ease of movement and coat condition when they're getting the proper amount. It's a little spendy, but that cost is negligible compared to some vet-supplied supplements. I would recommend this product to any dog owner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a terrific Joint Formula Support I have been using "The Missing Link Plus Canine Formula with Joint Support" for years. Recently I pulled a very old (16) yr. old male Cocker Spaniel from the shelter because he was in deplorable condition plus being blind and deaf. I just wanted to give him a good place to rest until it was time instead of him spending his miserable last days in the shelter. His back legs were very weak. I immediately started him on this product and within a months time he walks with very little difficulty. It sure has added life to Adamm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Yellow Lab and my Black Lab were only 9 years old when I started them on this product but they were really beginning to slow down. My Yellow Lab, a much smaller-boned dog than my big-boned black male, had great difficulty getting up off her bed to go out and could not jump into the back of our Explorer any longer. It was so sad to see her diminished by age. She had always been the energetic one who went to the barn with me every morning and evening and I missed my companion. Well, after 3 weeks on this product, she was jumping into the back of the car and leaping around like a puppy! Murphy, our Black Lab, enjoyed playing outside again and was re-energized! He now stands up on his hind legs at the counter to watch me make their dinner and breakfast! We put the supplement in with their dinner which includes kibble and meat and a little hot water and they lick their bowls clean! Thank you for giving my puppies these extra good years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing We decided to try this product for our vesla, based on reviews from other vesla owners. It took about a week for our vesla to accept the new product, but he now eats it over his food without hesitation. By the end of the month, we were amazed at what we discovered! When we swept the floor, the handful of shedded hair, had been reduced to a pinch of shedded hair!! His coat has always been shiney, so we don't notice much difference there, but his coat seems thicker. We see no difference in this joint suppliment & others we've tried, it works. We highly recommend this product for joints & shedding problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from super stuff My Choc lab is going to be 11 soon and was really starting to slow down, trouble jumping into the truck, and you could see that she was very stiff in her muscles and joints. after about 2.5 weeks of adding MissLink to her already quality diet and she is running and jumping around "almost" like normal. Very impressive improvement. My 8 year old Yel lab is eating this stuff up to and he looks and runs and jumps like a 3yr old pup. He hesitated at first to eating it but I just cut down the dose a bit and now he loves the stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must Buy We have been using this product since we got our first Vizsla puppy 15 years ago...and have continued to use it with our additional two vizslas. Great product. First off, you see the immediate difference in the coat. Healthy, vibrant color, and shine. Then you see the difference in movement in the older dogs. Our 7 and 10 year old's still run like champions on the beach. Our 15 year old runs up and down stairs and in the yard. An amazing product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product We were using the 800petmeds joint supplement chewables but had to try an alternative when those were out of stock. I tried this product for three reasons: good reviews, focus on natural supplements, reasonable price. Our Bernese Mountain dog is 8 yrs old with mild arthritis. This seems to help consistently with his joints and he likes the flavor. My big concern is that a portion of the product seems to be wasted. Since it is granular, it falls to the bottom of the bowl. It sticks to the bowl and quite a bit adds up over a few days time. I bought enough for about three months and have been using it for about 6 weeks. The jury is still out but right now I am leaning toward continuing to use this rather than switch back to the other joint supplement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from miracle powder!! The missing link has turned back the clock years for my old, arthritic lab! My 10 year old lab was old beyond her years. She has arthritis in her hips and back. In the last year we have seen a significant decline in her. The arthritis had made it so she could not get up on her own.I had to lift her. She fell many times trying to walk upstairs and I don't even want to think about the falls down them. I read a ton of reviews trying to find something to help w her pain. I was skeptical of natures miracle but now I beleive! I've been giving it to her for just over a month. At about week three is when I saw a difference. No longer did she need me to help her get up and her constant limp was gone! It truly is a miracle. She is happy and playful again. This stuff is amazing!! Im so thankful I found it. My heart no longer breaks every day at the sight of her pain. Now its joyful nowing she's happy and healthy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Product I have been using this product for years it started with a Dachshund i had some years back who suddenly couldnt make it up the stairs.her leg was really bothering her...i put her on this and within days she was running and jumping like before i then started using it on my other Dachshund. I ran out once and her leg started up again so i know it works once back on she again was moving with no problems since then i have given it to our new dachshunds as a supplement since doxies are subject to back problems and all and have had no problems with our current two. I HIGHLY recommend this product...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from my dog likes the taste I have been using this for years in my dog's food, they seem to like the taste and it seems to help their coats. My older dog recently diagnosed with arthritis in his hips and right hip dysplasia. I am not sure if this product helped him with the severity of his arthritis or not. I am going to keep using it and research my options for him.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Teaspoon of miracle powder My dog is the definition of high maintenance ...lost a limb to infection, chronically slipped discs in his back, luxating patella. allergic to most things, and hates to eat the rest. Even on the best food I could give him, he was still really flakey and itchy. He slept most of the day and had no interest in play. I assumed he was just getting older and needed 22 hours of sleep a day - sounds legit. I've had him on fish oil and joint supplements but it was tough to get him to eat it and didn't seem to matter. Okay, enough back story, right!? In 2 weeks on this stuff, his coat thickened up, he has ZERO flaking for the first time in his life, and he's playing like a puppy again. In fact, I've had multiple people ask if he was a puppy despite his graying muzzle. This has been the single most significant improvement in his life.. As an added bonus, it doesn't deter him from his food at all.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It made both dogs sick. We gave it to both our dogs at slightly lower than the recommended dose for weight. They seemed to like the flavor and did well with the first dose. However, after the 2nd dose, both dogs started vomiting at the same time and didn't stop for 12 hours and Missing Link was the only change we made to their routine. We stopped giving it to them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Golden Retriever My Golden just turned 8, yet she looks/acts like a 3-4 yr. old. The reason I started her on Missing Link Plus was due to her spiraling up in the air to catch Frisbees & balls. I worried about her joints, etc. due to her age so I began using Missing Link 2 years ago and I truly believe it is helping to keep her active. My vet says whenever she does surgery on dogs that are getting this supplement she can tell right away. The fluid surrounding their joints/bones is thicker. All I know is my girl is super healthy, not slowing down at all with age, and even her coat has never looked better. It's so sleek & shines and she has very little shedding. I believe in this product and began adding it to my 4 lb. Chihuahua's meals as well. I'm not sure of the dosage on a dog so small so I'm only giving him about 1/4 teaspoon. I really think by feeding a healthy diet & adding supplements is key to keeping our pups happy & healthy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good stuff! My shepherd is handicapped. I wanted to get him on a supplement with glucosamine while he is a puppy to help with his development. I am in the veterinary field and like this product because it also contains ingredients that aid with digestion and skin health...so it is like a multivitamin. Always nervous to try new things because shepherds are picky so it has to be something that tastes good or they will never eat it! Also anything new causes diarrhea. This product passed every one of my tests. I would recommend to anyone. I also think it is quite economical.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Glad for This Purchase Annie was losing protein through her urine so Dr. Reh ran Urine Protein: Creatinine Ratio Test. The first test was done Dec. 2011 and came back .9 wich was very high. So I put her on an all Vegaterian dog food with 3 teaspoons of Missing Link and when the test was done last month (6-2012) it came back .5 which my Dr. Reh said was excellent. Since Annie is 121/2 years I will continue to keep her on this product not only because of the Omegas but also because of the joint support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Results in my 13 yr old! A dog expert had recommended this for my 13 yr old Pomeranian and I waited far too long to order. He has been getting it with his meals for 1 month now but we saw miraculous results after 2 weeks! He has so much energy and spunk we can't believe it. He charges on walks whereas he used to go very slow and stop and lay down after about 2 houses on the block. I cannot suggest this enough to all dog owners! My 4 yr old is getting it too and I know that will payoff in long run. Do your dog a favor and get this asap, he will thank you with big doggie kisses!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from She Loves it! While it still may a little early to tell if the product is effective, she sure licks that bowl clean when I sprinkle on her food. Her joint problem was just starting and she is yet young (2 1/2 yrs) but I would be interested to see if the minor problem she had, vanishes. So far, so good. The application of the product (sprinkle on the food) is easier than a pill or a chew. I'm pleased with the results.

How much do I give a 10lb Pomeranian. And what amount to I start and how do I titrate to the recommended dose. First weight on chart is 20lbs, and that is long stretch from 10, so advice needed. Thank you

Asked by: Redalex
The recommended dose for dogs up to 20 lbs is to give 1 teaspoon. Because of the high fiber content, start with small amounts (about a half of teaspoon) and gradually increase to the recommended level over the course of a week or two.

How long does 1 lb. package last?

I have a 50ish lb. dog. One tab on this page (product info?) says 3 tsp per day, another (how to use?) says 2 tsp for 50 lb dog. Bottom line - how long should this 1 lb. package last for a 50 lb. dog and which is correct, 2 tsp or 3 tsp? (There is no standard conversion for tsp into lb. when dealing with a powdered or granular substance unless, of course, the density of the product is known.)

I am making my own dog food and looking for a supplement of vitiams for my dog. I know calcuim is important. does this product contain any.

Asked by: dog lover
I always made my own dog food also, but added some bone meal powder for the calcium. There's a lot of info on line for natural ways to feed your breed of dog. When I looked up my breed it said to give him raw ground beef or poultry with shredded veggies, bone meal, and Missing Link for his skin and coat. I ran out of ML a few months ago and he now has dry flakey skin and a dull coat. Bottom line...not really sure about the ingredients since I don't have a package (just ordered more), but it looks like you need to add bone meal.

can a rottweiler puppy eat this

Asked by: trex
My Rotty puppy is now 10 1/2 yrs! I wish I had started it (Missing Link) sooner than later. They tend to need joint support earlier than alot of other breeds. If it doesn't upset his stomach in any way I think a dose perhaps every other day would be fine. Then increase as he/she ages. A well rounded diet and a high quality food and lots of steamed veggies worked well for me . oh and my doggies too! I've had several Rotties...they are the best! and they love you beyond the moon! I always said my dog would live in a closet...as long as she is WITH me! Good luck with the new love of your life!

My Pit / mix is underweight. He constantly is on the move. I think that he is skinny compaired to my other dogs.

They are all within their weight range for each of their breeds and all are wormed on a routine basis. I just want my one dog to get a little fatter.. Can this Product help with that?
Asked by: wawababe748
I think this product is a great supplement for healthy dogs and dogs with some problems too. If you feel your dog is underweight I would make sure he's getting enough healthy fats in his diet. A good old-fashioned hambguer a few times a week has always been on my dog's list of "within a balanced dog's diet". Only dry food does have some drawbacks and make sure you are using a high quality food appropiate for the dogs age and size and activity level. Continue to love and care so well for your best friend! No one will ever love you as much as your trusted canine! They deserve the best from us for their unconditional love and I think Missing Link is the best supplement I ever tried. Can I give this to my dog in tandem with Cosequin?

Asked by: Miranda
I asked our vet this same question and she said that it's not necessary; she says she thinks the Missing Link Plus does more for the money, and if we're feeding Missing Link, we should stop the Cosequin. One or the other, but not both, she said.

Does this product have any soy, wheat, or corn in it. We have eliminated these from our Cavalier's diet for allergy reasons.

What are the inactive ingredients or fillers are in this product?
Asked by: Toto
There is no corn, wheat, soy or any other kind of filler product... I too eliminated those kinds of things years ago... This was made with that in mind :)
