Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work! Recently saved our 'Princess' from the local shelter, who came to us with a multitude of ailments, two of which were fleas and tape worms. We purchased this product with the proactive idea that it would kill the tape worms and any other worms which may have inadvertently found their way into our baby. Wrong! Tape worms are still alive and healthy and still present in her stool. After carefully reading the label, I now understand it kills only one species of tape worm (Whoda Thunk?) Anyway just a heads up for those considering purchasing this product...DONT!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product ! I have 6 dogs, and have always had a tough time getting them to take dewormer medications. In the past I had to wrap pills in cheese and they would sometimes still spit it out. The water drops would go untouched when using products U put in their water. Love this Panicur C , just sprinkle the premeasured packets on their food and give a stir, they eat it like they don't know its in there, tape worms are gone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Panacur C I bought it because my fur baby had tapeworms caused by fleas. It does not get rid of tapeworms that are caused by fleas. You have to go to the vet to get a medication that will kill that type of tapeworm. They used to carry Worm 3 which got rid of flea caused tapeworms and it worked great. My fur baby went 7 years tapeworm free with the Worm 3. I would only recommend the Panacur C if I knew what type of worms a person was treating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works fast! I wasn't sure which product would work the best for the worm issues my dog was having. After talking to the person at 1800petmeds it was suggested that Panacur c should work and it did, really fast. Now I've got a very happy dog again. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Affordable My extremely expensive and up selling vet prescribed panacur c and the bill was $35 for a 3 day treatment! I refused, went on 1800petmeds and got it for less than $10. Shipping was quick too, so there wasn't a big lapse of time from diagnosis to treatment. Vets can diagnose, but I'll be getting all my meds from here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great service and product As a breeder it is very important to keep my dogs in tip top shape. Deworm regularly and have been very happy with panacur c. Even our little fussy Yorkie girl eats it with no problem. Great service from 1-800 pet meds as my first order was lost in the mail and they sent a second replacement without question.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE ONLY DEWOMER EVERY PETOWNER FOR A DOG!!!! This is the second time buying this product for my boxer, he got worms twice and I used the packets and mixed it in his food. He's a very picky eater so I grilled a whole chicken with BBQ sauce and mixed the packets and it worked. Took only a couple days and saw results of him gaining back his weight. AA+ But I would recommend getting him/her a check up, this is his second time getting worms and I stopped giving him any table scrapes and never gave him sweets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Results are as expected I used this product on my six week old puppies and the results are as expected. I do plan to follow-up with a second worming in three weeks as directed by manufacturer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stuff My dog has worms and I was desperate to find something affordable to help her. I came across this and the reviews were high and the price was right so I bought it. It cleared up the worms in three days and she didn't experience any side effects. My dog weighs 10.5lbs so I bought treatment for an 11lb dog. It worked just fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SO HAPPY THEY CARRY THIS.. I just saw they sell this. I work with rescue groups and it is always good to deworm a dog when you bring them to meet your other dogs. It can't hurt to deworm your dog as I do with this medication that I buy from my vet at a way higher price! Face it, tons of dogs eat other animal feces and can get worms very easy. Especially hook worms. I am a dog groomer and now tell all my customers about this site!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Did not work for my dogs tapeworms Although my dog did not have a problem with consuming and digesting this form (powder) of fenbendazole, this product did not kill the tapeworms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, effective treatment. We bought this to use on our 10lb chihuahua terrier mix. She had gotten a case of tapeworms. The medicine mixed easily with wet food and she didn't mind the taste. The day after the first dose, I could see the results. She is back to normal after the simple three day treatment. She did not suffer any of the listed side effects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I will never buy a different dewormer! My 3 month old puppy was loaded with worms. After getting him dewormed through the vet, he still had a lot of worms in his stool. This was recommended to us by the vet office. The worms are now gone and he didn't have any nasty side effects to this dewormer like he did to the dewormer from the vet. Great product!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent results My 60# dog had tapeworms following a flea infestation. I initially treated him with a one-time worm treatment product from Sargents that did not seem to work. After 1 week, I then tried Panacur c. By day 2, I stopped seeing worms in the dog's stool. No apparent side effects.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Didn't work for my Terrier Mix pup :( Even though this didn't work on my pup I would still recommend this to others. It has way more positive reviews than negative so I believe this is a good product overall. We picked up a new Terrier Mix puppy from the local animal shelter and after a few trips outside to poo I noticed she had tapeworm segments in her stool. I told my vet when she went in for her last set of shots and her rabies vaccination and he gave me a liquid DeWormer that I was supposed to use for 5 days but it made her sick and I had to stop giving it to her. I decided to order some OTC wormer from 1800 Petmeds and ended up getting the Panacur C since they were out of the Dog Worms 3 brand. I gave her the recommended dose for 3 days and she didn't have any side effects from it like she did the med I got from the vet. Unfortunately here it is over a week after treatment and she still has the tapeworms. I called 1800 Petmeds and told them it didn't work and they issued me a credit on the product per their satisfaction guarantee with no hassle. I am waiting now for the Dog Worms 3 to come back in stock so I can give that one a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great I would recommend this product, I have had to try this product twice. The first time my dog wouldn't eat it in anything I gave her, so she didn't get the complete dose for the three days, but this time I gave it to her in her favorite food and she has token all three doses and is seeming a little bit better. She never had any problems with the doses, she never had a sidefect. I would give them to her again if I had to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Parasite Fix This product works great!!!! Since getting my Pomeranian, she has tested positive for several different parasites, and Panacur is what our vet gave her to treat them. After repeat testing, her tests come back negative. I always want to keep a course or 2 on hand just in case. Thank you, 1-800 Pet Meds for offering this medicine at an affordable price!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get Rid of Worms with Panacur C My 16 year old shepherd mix was going downhill. I thought this was the end for him because of his age. Then I found out my foster dog had worms, so I treated all my dogs with Panacur C. There was a huge change in my oldest dog. He came back to life! I used this product once before and it worked. I had taken them to the vet, but they were still showing signs of having worms, so I tried panacur C and had much success.

Can I mix this with water and give it to my dog in a syringe instead of mixing onto her food? My vet gave me Panacur for my pittie pup, but it was a liquid in a syringe.

Asked by: DJKMom
Thank you for your question. The medication can be mixed with a small amount of your pet's usual food. Dry dog food may require slight moistening to allow for proper mixing. Medicated food must be fully consumed to be effective. We would not recommend mixing with water and giving it by syringe unless otherwise instructed by your vet. The Panacur will not dissolve and will probably clog the syringe.

Can Panacur be used in combination with Interceptor plus?

Asked by: Denise
Thank you for your question. It should not be necessary to use both the Panacur C and Interceptor Plus together as Interceptor Plus unless advised to do so by your veterinarian. Interceptor Plus is not only used to prevent heartworm disease it also treats and control common intestinal parasites including roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and tapeworms. Panacur C is used to treat hookworms, roundworms, tapeworms, and whipworms in dogs.

My vet gave this to me for my cat even though it is for dogs and said it would be fine . However my heat in house is broke and temp was at 40, I noticed storage directions say to keep at 59-86, will that hurt effectivness??

Asked by: Deborah333
Thank you for your question. This medication is safe to use in cats. Storing the medication at a temperature that is out of the intended range may decrease the stability of the medication, which could decrease its effectiveness. It is best to attempt to store the medication at room temperature. You may still give this medication to your cat and it will likely still be effective.

What is Panacur C?

Panacur C (fenbendazole) is a broad spectrum parasiticide used to treat hookworms, roundworms, tapeworms, and whipworms in dogs. It is also used by veterinarians to treat other parasites.

NOTE:For heartworm protection, try Ivermectin Pyrantel - Generic to Heartgard Plus.

For:

Dogs (6 weeks of age or older)

Benefits:

  • Can be added to food
  • FDA-approved for use in dogs
  • Side effects are rare

How does Panacur C work?

Fenbendazole is a member of the benzimidazole group of anti-parasite medications which makes it a relatively broad-spectrum medication. It binds to parasitic proteins which leads to damaging the integrity and the transport function of cells in parasites.

Cautions:

Side effects are rare, but may include loose stools. Since humans can contract roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms from pets, it's important to maintain good personal hygiene. It's also important to eliminate fleas and to not feed your pet uncooked meat or fish. To prevent re-infection, clean up stools on a daily basis.

Brand Name:

Panacur C (Intervet)

Generic Name:

Fenbendazole (fen-ben'-da-zole)

What is the most important thing I should know about Panacur C?

Fenbendazole is an anthelminthic (dewormer) used in the treatment of certain types of roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and tapeworm infections in dogs.

How should Panacur C be given?

Fenbendazole is FDA approved for use in dogs only. The usual dose for dogs, based on weight using the chart below, is given once a day for 3 consecutive days. The medication can be mixed with a small amount of your pet's usual food. Dry dog food may require slight moistening to allow for proper mixing. Medicated food must be fully consumed to be effective.

Panacur C Dosing Chart: each packet is a daily dose depending on size. Use for 3 consecutive days.

What are the potential side effects of Panacur C?

Side effects of fenbendazole are rare but may include loose stools.

What should I avoid while giving Panacur C?

This medication should not be used in animals allergic to it. Because humans can contract roundworm, hookworm and tapeworm from pets, it is important to maintain good personal hygiene. It is also important to eliminate fleas on the pet and in the household and to not feed the pet rodents or uncooked meat or fish. To prevent reinfection, daily cleanup of stools is recommended.

What happens if I overdose my pet on Panacur C?

Contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency room.

How should I store Panacur C?

Store this medication at controlled room temperature (59-86F).
