(1) One SKB unit is defined as the amount of enzyme needed to form 10 mg of reducing sugars from 1% soluble starch solution at pH 5.0 and 40°C in 30 minutes.

(2) One FCC Lipase Unit (LU) is defined as that quantity of enzyme that will liberate the equivalent of one μmol of acid (H+) per minute from the substrate, under the conditions of the assay. The assay is based on a five-minute hydrolysis of an olive oil substrate at pH 6.5 and 30°C. The fatty acids released on hydrolysis of the glycerol esters are determined by the titration with sodium hydroxide.

NaturVet Digestive Enzymes Plus Probiotic Powder is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 242.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from No more upset I tried this product to combat my Flat-coat's IBD. She was getting sick once a month. As part of an overall system, I really feel like this digestive enzyme kept her feeling much better. The IBD flare ups came once a year as a result, I believe, of this product, exercise and increased fiber. Both my dogs use this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved the day Our golden retriever had killer gas problems. It was a bit of a joke around the house. Then, after watching TV ads for human digestive problems, I thought of Ruby. Her gas could be a result of digestive problems. So I ordered this product and, miracle, Ruby has no more deadly gas!!! So happy to have this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product and No Fillers! I purchased this around Christmas time for my two Golden mixes. They are sisters and about 10 years old. One had a severe yeast problem due to a grain allergy. We had her on Dinovite for quite a while, but she was still itching constantly. Even after several dietary discussions (including grains) with Dinovite's "coaches" she was still scratching while on a grain free diet. Lo and behold, there was sorghum grain in the Dinovite. I switched her to the NaturVet Digestive Enzymes and couldn't be happier! Within a week her scratching started to subside and now she is one super happy dog about a month later. I give it to her sister as well for her sensitive digestive system. They both get it with every meal and they now have tons of energy! Plus, both of the dogs have softer coats. I have them both on the same grain-free duck diet and I also cook for them - lots of bone broth, veggies and fresh meat. I will happily keep them on this enzyme product for the rest of their lives and have even told their vet about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Results My cat was having great difficulty in keeping her food down and I tried several things from the local pet store but, nothing seemed to help. The Digestive Enzymes worked from day one and I am so pleased! My cat is now gaining some weight and is much happier and healthier. I would highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I home cook for my clan of 5 and although they were getting vitamins and supplements, they had a yeast overgrowth problem. After 3 months on the enzymes, the black patches are all but gone and at 5, they are acting like puppies again. I'll never be without this again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great I've been using this product for over a year now. My Chihuahua became extremely ill and had diarrhea and vomiting that wouldn't stop. I started using the enzymes and within 2 weeks she was back to normal. I use much less than what is recommended and it works for her.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for picky dogs. It seems to be tasteless and odorless and easy to mix in food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best! I had purchased other digestive enzyme products, I couldn't really see much of a difference. Purchased NatruVet Digestive Enzymes and I am thrilled. I can't feel his ribs like I did. It was difficult to pet him he was skin and bones. After a month he looks amazing and I barely feel his ribs. He the right weight now. I am relieved that he can have a happy & healthy life. Also, very reasonably priced. Last a long time and I have a big dog. Thank you 1-800 PetMeds for suggesting this product.

Q&A

Would this help to deter poop eating in 2 of my dogs? Also, they now take Pet Tabs with their meals, plus vitamin E and C and one elderly dog I give high potency B complex.

Asked by: CarolAnndogs
The labeling of this products does not claim to deter poop eating. However there is a product called For Bid that does. http://www.1800petmeds.com/FOR+BID-prod10475.html

I have a French mastiff that is 115 pounds, since it says a 50 pound dog should I double the dose?

Asked by: Tracy
The recommended dose for dogs of all weights is: Add 1/4 rounded teaspoon to each cup of dry or wet food. Each 1/4 rounded teaspoon equals 1 gram.

I have an 11lb Yorkie, and it said it will last a 50lb dog so many days. Because my dog is smaller does that change the dosage at all? It also mentioned  overdosing and I want to make sure I can give my little dog this product.

Asked by: YorkieMom
It depends on how much food your pet eats. Add 1/4 rounded teaspoon to each cup of dry or wet food. Each 1/4 rounded teaspoon equals 1 gram. Larger dogs generally eat more food and would require more NaturVet Digestive Enzymes than a smaller 11 ln yorkie.
