Questions

We have three cats...one has taken Heartgard with no problems.  The other two just don’t like either the smell or the taste, even when mixed in with wet food. Anyone have suggestions on what to mix the crumbled pills with?

Asked by: TriciaLH
Heartgard Chewables for Cats must be chewed. They should not be swallowed whole. For cats, the chew can be crumbled onto food or fed directly to the cat. You can try mixing it with your furry baby's favorite food. Otherwise, you can consult with your veterinarian to see what other options are available for your furry baby.

My cat is 19 lbs. Is there another dosage for larger cats?

Since your furry baby is over 15 lbs, your furry baby will need to take one pill for cats 5-15 lbs and one pill for cats 1-5 pounds.

Can I fax or email a prescription from my vet to you? Is there anything else you need?

Asked by: Mamafarron
Thank you for your question. We are very sorry, but unfortunately due to pharmacy regulations we can only accept a fax or scan directly from your veterinarian. So if your veterinarian is not able to approve the prescription via email, phone or fax you would have to mail in the original written prescription. Once the order is placed we are able to contact your veterinarian directly to obtain the prescription.

Can this be combined with the Flea5X Plus? I use that for flea & tick prevention, but I also want to protect my cat from heart worm & other intestinal parasites. I don't want to over-medicate.
