Rated 1 out of 5 by from Crumpled Pieces I bought a pack of the pill pockets because my dog really likes them. The package the contents of the package was so crumpled that I had to make my own pill pocket by putting pieces together and put the pill inside that. I was very disappointed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These and the other These and the other pill pocket flavors have been a game changer for my two senior special needs pups. This has made it much easier to feed my dogs their twice daily medications. I have tried other pill treat alternatives and my dogs have expressed their distaste to those immediately. After that experience I have learned that Pill Pockets will always be my go to brand for keeping my pups healthy. They look forward to their medication!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely PERFECT With 4 pills to be taken twice a day following her surgery, Molly figured out my game plans -- pills in whipped topping, pills in peanut butter, poking pills down side of the mouth. Well, I got this and these are GREAT!!! This morning, she even couldn't WAIT to take her pills, thanks to Greenies Pill Pockets.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Crumbles like sand? One out of every four bags I buy goes into the garbage. When an entire bag of pockets crumbles like sand when you try to wrap a pocket around a pill, you know there is a quality control issue. I just experienced two bags in a row where this is happening. I've decided I have to look for alternatives, because it's really frustrating me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pill pockets fall apart Recently I have been dissatisfied with this product. The last several bags that I purchased were very disappointing due to the fact that the pill pockets have been falling apart. I get near the bottom of the bags and the pill pockets are all bits and pieces. I buy (2) 60 piece bags at a time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these, my dog loves these. Everyone is happy. I used to give him his pill (which is twice a day) in peanut butter but he started noticing his pill was in it and I also hated either sticking my finger in the jar or wasting a spoon every time he had to take his pill. These apparently taste really good he thinks hes just getting a yummy and it makes pill time so much easier for me.

When I used about 2/3,s of the bag the rest was totally crumbled in many small pieces. The price is expensive and now extremely wasteful. I can’t piece it back together

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you have a pill picky dog, these may be a lifesaver for you. We've had two dogs who have undergone cancer treatment over the last few years and they had a TON of pills they had to take daily. Now, if your pup is SUPER smart, they may figure out they can mangle the treat a little and drop the pills out, then eat the treat, but for the most part, these work. This treat is malleable so you can close it around the pill, but we found that the best method for our super smart girl was to shove some peanut butter in on top of the pills to make them sticky and harder to separate from the pill pocket treat. Our slightly less intelligent boy had no issues and snarfed his treats down in these just fine. If you're giving these multiple times daily they can be a little expensive but they are worth every penny. These worked better than shoving pills in cheese or wrapping them in lunch meat ever has. They also make for good training treats because you can tear them up into small, soft treats and one pill pocket goes a long way using that method. I would wholeheartedly recommend these.

Asked by: futballmom4
i have a chihuahua on gabapentin. he was on a liquid compound formula. now, i mix the contents of capsules with pill pockets, knead to mix well, and then cut as evenly as possible in to doses. my small dog's does is 37.5 mg. 37.5 times 8 = 300. I empty three capsules onto a plate and mix with 3 pill pockets. i knead repeatedly to try to distribute medication as evenly as possible. then, i use a ruler and paring knife to try to cut the mix into 8 pieces that are as evenly cut as possible.

How may pills can you get into a pocket?

It would really depend on the size of the pill. I think it could hold a decent amount, plus the pill pocket is "smooshy", for lack of a better word, so you could probably cram some more in there if there wasn't really room.

Can you put meds in pill pockets in advance, like to make it easier for kennels when boarding?

Asked by: Trudi
It is not recommended to put medication in the pill pockets in advance. It must be done right before the dose is to be given. The ingredients in the pill pockets may start to break down and deteriorate tablets or capsules, so it is not recommended place medication in them until the dose is due.

Is diahrrea normal when taking this product?

My dog has been on liver antioxidents (prescribed by her vet) for a little over month and the only way she will take the pills is the use of pill pockets. I have noticed that about after a week of using pill pockets every bowel movement has been loose, is this a normal reaction from the pill pockets or should I be conserned. She is an English bull dog, who was a little gassy to begin with but now I have also noticed her being more gassy then before as well. Thanks for your help!

That is a question you need to ask your vet.He will have your pets history. Also, contact the pill pocket company for added assurance. It could be associated with the pills and may eventually stop. BEST advice-ask the vet and go with what he tells you.Always make sure your pet gets extra water so as not to be dehydrated.
