Rated 5 out of 5 by from Picky dog who LOVES them I buy them for his teeth as well as bad breath, since he won’t tolerate brushing gently of a single tooth. But it doesn’t talk away his bad breath completely , but it takes away enough of it for sure ! Plus he loves his treats and chewing on them , which helps rid of plaque !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dog Peetie loves Greenies. A couple of years ago, he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure requiring several pills to be taken twice daily without failure. We both struggled giving his medications the conventional ways, until remembering his love for his Greenies, I came to a brilliant idea of grating the Greenies and sprinkling it over the pills. Needles to say, he's been taking his pills eagerly since. What a relief. Tessie H

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best treat for my dog I've been giving my 100+ lb dog Greenies for over 5 years as a snack after her meal and she still looks forward to it. As noted in some of the negative reviews, this product needs to be chewed thoroughly to be digestible and effective as an oral cleanser. The chlorophyll in this product and the tough, elastic texture help keep her breath and teeth clean. The only reservation I have is its high caloric content (152 kcal/large treat), but its reinforcing power and effective cleansing actions far outweigh that limitation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A treat that keeps teeth clean We don't give our doggie a whole Greenie every day. That would be too expensive. Instead, we cut each (medium) Greenie into 16 pieces, so that we can use them as treats for good behavior after we brush her teeth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is great stuff for your dog I use this on my little Yorkie for roughly 10 years now and I use something in his water as well if I could find it in the store I can never find the same stuff for his water but that's beside the point what were the two together for the past 10 years the vet asked me one day how well do I brush his teeth and I left I told her don't I use the Greenies and stuff in his water bowl and they said for my little Yorkie that his teeth looks like a two year old puppy so got to be doing something right

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dogs love these treats! I put both my shar pei on the Greenies. I have a 5 yo and a 3 1/2 month old. They totally love them! Their breath is so much more pleasant and their teeth are staying clean and white. I'm surprised how much they like them and beg for them when I say it's "time to brush your teeth". They are very happy. So I'm even more happy! It's a healthy treat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loves them! Our 7 year old dog has been eating one greenie every morning as a "reward" to his morning medication for the past 4 years. He absolutely loves them! While his teeth have some hard tartar in spots, they are definitely cleaner overall due to these treats. Only if he has more than one does his waste turn green.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad Breath Eliminated After trying a few different products, in an attempt to try improving oral hygiene of my buddy, I tested this product, which proved to be quite effective, eliminating the bad breath, leaving his teeth whiten. My dog had gingivitis in the past and lost three teeth because of it, now he's cured and keep his oral hygiene with this product and also the bi-annual evaluation with a veterinarian, even he was impressed with the result given by greenies. Using this product, my buddy does not need medical periodic cleaning: which is expensive and requires anesthesia, increasing risks for my friend.

Can Greenies cause diahhrea.

I do not know if it is coincidental but After a couple of days of Greenies ( one a day) my Bassett developed diahhrea. could it be assocaited to gthe Greenies.
Asked by: Polly
It could be as greenies are a type of green like a salad is to us. My dog doesn't get diahhrea but her stool is softer. I'd not give your dog one every day back off to a couple a week and then evaluate.

What if my pet swallows a big piece?

Asked by: Pat
It depends on the size of your dog and the size of the greenie piece he swallowed. If you have a "toy" sized dog that swallowed a large piece I would bring him/her to the veterinarian. If it was a very small piece it would just digest in the stomach and not an issue. Sames rules for large dogs. You wouldn't want a large piece of greenie making its way to the intestinal track before digesting properly as it can cause discomfort. Just FYI-rawhide chews are far more dangerous than any Greenie could ever be.

Could it be a biting problem...?

Zephy adores all the treats I have bought from PetMeds, specially Greenies. But, If Greenies are supposed to help dental hygiene, how does they enhance my dog's dental health if he swallows everything I give him. I'll take Zephy to the Vet for tartar treatment, but still..., could it be a biting problem?
Asked by: Millie
Thank you for your question Millie. Here are some of the benefits of giving your furry buddy Greenies: Bristles and Grooves: Wrap around teeth for greater surface contact as well as provide break points so bite sizes are safe and manageable. Brush head: Encourage dogs to manipulate the product in their mouth so more teeth get cleaned. Chewy Texture: Allows teeth to sink in all the way to the gums for more effective cleaning. Handle Valley: Guides a dog's mouth naturally to the brush head and provides an additional groove for teeth to fit into. Knuckle Ends: Provide break points to maximize digestibility and help dogs grip the treat with their paws for easier chewing.

Do you have Greenies Senior Teenies?

How much is a pkg and how many in pkg.
Asked by: Helen
The price depends on how many you want and how much your dog weighs. The amount inside the bag is based on your pet's weight. My dog weighs 17 pounds, so I usually get the 45 Greenie package and it's $40. They last me probably a month and a half, maybe more. These are great though and they really help with their teeth

why cant dogs under 5 lbs. eat them?

Asked by: leon
I have one under 5 lbs and he's doing fine with the Teenie size. I about died laughing when I accidentally received the Large size and handed him one of those! He couldn't carry it anywhere and had to lay in the same spot chewing. This is a week later, it is still there with a big end missing where he's been chewing. He's about 10 weeks old and I'd sure rather he chew on this than me or shoes! I got this dog prior to shelter and he smelled real bad but now is changed into sweet smelling and nice happy to have home with great food! Loving family member.
