Rated 1 out of 5 by from ATTRACTED MORE FLIES Aside from the fact that it was hard to apply (I wish it was in a spray version), It was just horrible. It attracted more flies and my dog was literally covered in flies after I applied this. What a waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Amazingly but.......... I love this medication because it works!!!!! Its healing the fly bites and keeping the flys away from my baby's neck and face, the only problem I can find is my "baby" is a horse, and the "jars" of this product is way too small. I'm buying 3 jars at one time and next time need much more. But it works much better than any spray I've used and its a great product, so if you have horses getting eaten alive by fly bites, BUY THIS PRODUCT, IT WORKS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flys Off Fly off product review: There is no tougher time of year for external parasite exposure for dogs and horses who spend much time outside, than the warmer summer/early fall months. Not only are fleas and ticks abundant, but with the recent moister weather in many areas of the country, we are seeing a huge increase in fly exposure and what is called fly strike or secondary fly bite skin lesions in both dogs and horses. Not only can these pesky critters cause and/or aggravate topical skin wounds, but the more serious health risks to these animals involves the laying of eggs, which can turn into infectious larvae called maggots, which can lead to worsening infection and even death in some animals if they grow to huge numbers. That is why it is so important in those dogs and horses exposed to flies to use such a product to help kill and repell the flies.. For my canine patients this is especially important to apply around the ear tips where flies like to bite and/or sometimes lay eggs. It is also important for animal guardians to be aware of those long hair breeds who sometimes collect stool in the long hair on the rear, which is why it is critical to check these areas regularly in those pets housed or who spend much time outside. Using the fly off product in such areas can again help with preventing maggot infestation. The manufacturer has been around for decades and this product certainly has a proven track record. I give this product an overall rating of a 5 with an ease of use of a 5 as well.

can this be used on lion's ears?

I volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary (really) and the flies really bite the lions' and tigers' ears
Asked by: Cat Girl
Because Flys Off is labeled for use on dogs and horses only, I would need to refer you to your sanctuary's veterinarian with this question. Flys Off contains a combination of insecticides and I do not know how a lion will or will not react to any of these ingredients.

Which spray the first reviewer is talking about?

The first reviewer of the product "Flies-off" has mentioned that she/he had purchased "Flies-off ointment" and the "Spray." I am not sure what the reviewer meant by the "Spray." I would appreciate if you let me know the name of the spray to ward off flies for dogs. Thanks.

Fly larva

I recently set up K9 kennels along with the water and food system that holds 5 gal. Of water and 50lbs.food container. There is a cow pasture not more than 15' away, We noticed That Flies are laying eggs/ dropping Larva in the water bowl. We never ever seen anything like this. The Flies actually aren't bad at all but even keeping the cage cleaned daily and diluted bleach, germicidal disinfectant . These little white Larva, looks like magits keep appearing in the water.. what can be done. Never ever have had or seen anything like this.
