What is Bravecto?

Bravecto is the first oral chew for dogs to provide up to 12 weeks of protection against fleas and ticks. One chew provides broad-spectrum and long-lasting protection that starts to kill fleas within 2 hours and controls 4 tick species: black-legged tick (a.k.a. deer tick), American dog tick, brown dog tick, and lone star tick. Bravecto eliminates current flea infestations and prevents new ones from developing for 12 weeks. With one chew, Bravecto is easier to give and less to worry about for you! Bravecto requires a prescription from your veterinarian.

NOTE: To protect cats against fleas and ticks for up to 12 weeks, use Bravecto for Cats.

For:

Dogs and puppies (over 4.4 lbs and 6 months of age or older)

Benefits:
  • With one dose, Bravecto resets the clock on flea and tick protection by providing effective prevention and treatment for both fleas and ticks for up to 12 weeks.
  • Close to a full year of protection with only 4 doses. No more monthly dosing!
  • No potential for messy application issues and no need to isolate from children or other pets after treatment
  • Fewer doses mean fewer chances to miss a dose decreasing the likelihood of having gaps in protection
  • Dogs love the taste!
How does Bravecto work:

After giving your dog Bravecto, the medication quickly reaches tissue fluids under your dog's skin. When fleas and ticks feed on your dog, they ingest Bravecto and die. Bravecto kills fleas, prevents flea infestations and kills ticks (black-legged tick (a.k.a. deer tick), American dog tick, and brown dog tick) for 12 weeks. Bravecto also kills lone star ticks for 8 weeks.

Customer Reviews
Bravecto is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 269.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from easy to give.. I have a long haired Saint Bernard. For me it is difficult to try to put flea and tick medicine directly on the skin. With Bravecto it makes it easy to give. The first time I gave it to her she ate it just like a treat but the second time she turned her nose up at it.. so I highly recommend giving it to them with a meal or peanut butter. I gave it with peanut butter and it worked great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product works great. My dog did not like the taste so my vet told me to buy these treats called pill pockets and it makes it so much easier for my dog to take. The pill pockets come 2 sizes small for pills and big for capsules.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great; must taste horrid I have had my labs on this treatment for about a year now. One has serious flea allergies, and since we started on this he has had no issues. (Fleas won't bite like with topicals) *side note: have had no issues with side effects My only problem is that, to be an "easy chewable", I have to go through histrionics to get either of them to take the thing. I have to chop it up and make a peanut butter ball typically rolled in another yummy thing, like bacon, for either of them to even get near it. My anxiety pup gets freaked out as soon as I get out the package. The product works swimmingly, just a pain in the rumpus room to administer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally Works...But... I've been using this product on my dogs for about a year and it totally works! No fleas, but they don't care for the taste. I have to break it apart and wrap it in cheese, and sometimes that doesn't work. I'm just glad I only have to give it to them once every 3 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best I had been using the same spot on flea medication for quite a while. I found out last summer that I had FLEAS in the house and became totally horrified! I talked with my veterinarian, and she told me she also had to switch to a different application. Though I do not like using chemical applications via skin or ingested, I took her advice and ordered Bravecto. I, of course had to douse my entire household with 20 Mule Team Borax and vacuum it up several times before realizing the fleas were gone and my dogs were free of fleas on inspection. Bravecto has become my dog's and my best friend. It is an amazing product. Thank you PetMeds for making it a reasonable item for purchase.
