Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic product! I bought this product for the first time from this company and was so pleased that I did! I usually get it from my veterinarian! They were cheaper with fast shipping! It’s a great product too! Really works keeping fleas and ticks off your pet for 3 months with just one chewable tablet! Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works! I have a three year old Aussie. We have used Bravecto on him for all three years. We live in a tick area..I have found that even though a tick may hitch hike home they die if they try to burrow in. They just dry up and fall off and never affect the dog! Being that my dog is very picky about what he eats, I break the Bravecto up and wrap it in lunch meat and he swallows it eagerly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One chew does it all! Works great, worth every penny. Does not upset my dogs stomach and he obviously does not mind the flavor. Less frequency, no drops, no extra pill-this is a dream. Our new vet recommended Bravecto and we are so glad that he did.

I have a Bichon Frise and 2 Yorkies (1 teacup, 4lbs) they have never gotten sick and it's been 4 years they've been getting them! I love these Bravecto chews!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No fleas or other issues The pill does exactly what it claims to do in terms of flea & tick prevention. I know after reading several blogs I was worried my dog would experience side effects, but he has been on the pills for 3 years and has fortunately not had any side effects. I definitely will continue using this and recommend this pill for your flea and tick needs. My one slight complaint is my dog hates to eat it. I need to break it up into little pieces and put it in ice cream now! He won't even eat it in peanut butter anymore. I wish they could do something to make it more tasty for the dogs. That is the reason I deducted one star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It! I bought this for Jazz About 2 maybe three years ago! The only thing with Jazz is that she is very fussy about her treats. She is a princess after all!! She is about 29 pounds so I cut it in 4 pieces , stuff in a bit of chunky peanut butter and wacth out for my fingers. As far as the environment ,We live on acred in the woods and also have a camp in the north woods. she is in grass over her head all day long. It is fabulous!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great I bought this a few weeks ago after it was recommended by my vet. We have tried topical tick meds in the past which dont seem to work well for her. With spring around the corner we have found a few ticks on her already but after giving her the chew a couple of weeks ago she has been tick free since. I also really like that I don't have to worry about petting her and getting the med on me after its given like I do with the topical.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bravecto - No Fleas, No Ticks We have been using Bravecto chews for two years with exceptional results. Granted, we don't walk our dog in tall grasses in the shade where ticks hide out, but she does go in the woods and runs in sunny fields. The eatables are easy, clean - and one table really does last three months. My dog believes they are a yummy treat, so easy to give. No fuss!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have been giving Bravecto chews to my Yorkie for a couple of years now. I live on a farm in the south where the climate is mild to hot pretty much year round, so we don’t get much relief from pests and insects. This product is very effective. I can honestly say that I have never found a flea or tick on my dog. My senior Yorkie takes this product without any fuss and she has never experienced any significant side effects (I have had oral flea/tick products give her seizure like episodes in the past). I love ordering these from 1800petmeds because of the amazing price and fast shipping. The dog treat in the delivery box is a nice bonus too that my dog enjoys!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for my pups We used to use topical ointments until we noticed them burning our poor dogs' skin and causing excessive itching. These chews have completely alleviated that issue and work so much better. We've been using them for about 2 years and my two dogs have maybe had 5 ticks collectively, most of which were found crawling. In comparison, our dogs used to get at least 1-2 ticks a week (fully engorged) since we live close to a wooded area. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Self This is absolutely the best working flea medication we have ever tried for Murphy. He is 14 and we have tried virtually every flea medication and this one works. It not only works, it works great. We had a real problem with Murphy scratching all the time and we tried cortozone shots to relieve the itching but it didn't help. After giving him the Bravecto he no longer has fleas and his scratching is almost completely gone now, and this is after just 1 week. We noticed almost instant relief from the fleas for him after giving it to him. I would very highly recommend this to anyone for their dogs.

I have Bravecto tablets that are for large dogs (88-123 lbs).  Can I give a half pill to my 65 lb dog?

Asked by: Trish
No. Even if the medication was evenly distributed in the tablet (which is not likely as the tablet is not scored), your 65 pound dog requires 1000 mg of active ingredient. The larger size has 1400 mg so half a tablet would only provide 700 mg, not enough for your 65 pound dog.

Asked by: Debbie
If you provide your vet's information when ordering, PetMeds will contact your vet for approval. Also, as an FYI, veterinarian's are required by law to give written scripts if they are asked to do so if all other requirements have been met (current exam, any required testing, etc).

how do I gt my dog to chew this

Asked by: nancy
If your dog won't take it as a treat, you can hide it something yummy like cheese, peanut butter or my personal favorite, liverwurst. Make several small treat balls and start by giving a few treats without the medication in it. Then slip the treat with the Bravecto (or any other medication) to you dog followed immediately with another treat or two without medication. Most dogs are cautious with the first one or two, then get very eager to continue eating the treats and if followed by non-medicated treats, the medicated one tends to get eaten quickly and the "oddness" of the one is forgotten by the dog by the last one or two treats.

For dogs weighing more than 123 pounds, the manufacturer says to use a combination of tablets to reach the appropriate dose for the weight. So for a 150 pound dog, use the 88-123 pound size plus the 22-44 pound size.

We saw the fleas starting to die later the same day on one of our dogs but its been 10 days since pill and she is still getting massive amounts of fleas on her. works well with other dogs here but lots of $$$ to have it not work. Any help?

Asked by: Sharon
Fleas only spend about 2 hours every day on the pet. You may have a severe infestation which is why you are still seeing fleas on your dogs. You should start to see fewer large adult fleas and only small, newly hatched fleas getting their first meals. Since cocooned flea larva can be in the environment for up to 2 years, you can still see occasional fleas at that time as long as there is no other source bringing new fleas into the environment (stray dogs or cats and wildlife). The manufacturer recommends giving their product at least 3 months of monthly treatments before making any judgement as to whether it is working on your particular flea population.

What is Bravecto Chews?

Bravecto Chews is the first oral chew for dogs to provide up to 12 weeks of protection against fleas and ticks. One chew provides broad-spectrum and long-lasting protection that starts to kill fleas within 2 hours and controls 4 tick species: black-legged tick (a.k.a. deer tick), American dog tick, brown dog tick, and lone star tick. Bravecto Chews eliminates current flea infestations and prevents new ones from developing for 12 weeks. With one chew, Bravecto Chews is easier to give and less to worry about for you! Bravecto Chews requires a prescription from your veterinarian.

NOTE: For a topical solution, try Bravecto Topical for Dogs.To protect cats against fleas and ticks for up to 12 weeks, use Bravecto for Cats. For heartworm protection, try Ivermectin Pyrantel - Generic to Heartgard Plus.

Benefits:

  • With one dose, Bravecto Chews resets the clock on flea and tick protection by providing effective prevention and treatment for both fleas and ticks for up to 12 weeks.
  • Close to a full year of protection with only 4 doses. No more monthly dosing!
  • No potential for messy application issues and no need to isolate from children or other pets after treatment
  • Fewer doses mean fewer chances to miss a dose decreasing the likelihood of having gaps in protection
  • Dogs love the taste!

How does Bravecto Chews work:

After giving your dog Bravecto Chews, the medication quickly reaches tissue fluids under your dog's skin. When fleas and ticks feed on your dog, they ingest Bravecto and die. Bravecto Chews kills fleas, prevents flea infestations and kills ticks (black-legged tick (a.k.a. deer tick), American dog tick, and brown dog tick) for 12 weeks.
