Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Quickley and effitiently I was using flea x 5. It was not working so I purchased Capstar which works great to kill fleas and switched back to frontline flea medication. We're back to flea free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from sold We have 6 cats and had a terrible flea problem this summer in NJ. The other products like Frontline and Comfortis were not that effective for us. Also some of the cats would throw up after being treated with other products. All six cats were treated with Capstar and it started to work right away. We dose them every week for 3 weeks. We clean the house thoroughly and we were able to eliminate the fleas. The cats go outside and as soon as one of them starts to scratch, they get a pill. We feel that we have a good solution with Capstar and don't expect a recurrence of the infestation we had this summer. Also the cats tolerate Capstar well, and don't throw up from it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm! Here in he tropics fleas are a year round pest and using Capstar along with a flea prevention product has kept our fleas in check, especially during the rainy seasons. Been using Capstar on our weener hound family for years and do not plan to change from a winning product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally some flea relief!! For the first time I have a full blown flea infestation in my yard from the ultra dry weather. My poor fifteen year old Cavalier was miserable. Had used Frontline for years and it just failed this time. Capstar was immediate relief while I attempted to get the infestation in my yard under control and the fleas that had entered the house. It's a great short term fix while you deal with the problem. He's now on Comfortis for the long term and that works really well for him. Capstar saved the day here!

What meds conflict with cap star.

My Yorkie is on meds because he occasionally has seizures. Using cap star will that harm him or conflict with the meds?
Asked by: Jeter
I am a LVT, I am degree'd, and I do not feel ethically I can, give you this type of medical advice., I would NOT give your Yorkie ANYTHING until I had spoken with my veterinarian. EVEN if another person has had the same issue, every dog is different ,i hope you ask your Doctor. Good luck!!

Caspar and Frontline

Gave my dog Frontline Plus yesterday & she still has flees. can I give Caspar simultaneously with Frontline Plus?
Asked by: karen
Yes! but i would give just the the pill today, you can't redo the drops so soon together, infact id not recommend that unless my Vet okay'd it!! but now giving the pill today is fine, it does sound like you are not spraying ,fogging etc your environment. you will NEVER get rid of all the fleas and,and eggs unless you do,and make sure you vacuum a lot after...

how long after capstar can I used advantage?

Asked by: Sally
use the pill, flea bath, once dry apply topical drops. so the same day , no bath then wait a couple of hours. This way you can make sure your pet has no side effects from any medication and if so which one . I feel it is very unlikely as i've done the treatment i have described to you on my own dog,and did the capstar and bath on a tiny weak 2lb rescue cat. He is now a year old big 10 pound plus beauty . I only had to do the treatment the pill, bath on my Beaux once! Because the dogs are inside outside animals, i've had to redo their treatment this year, including the environment.

Will this make my dog sick?

I've used many of the products where you put the flea medication on the dogs back, but it always makes my dog throw up. Will this make her sick also?
Asked by: Janice
Hi Janice, The topical can make your animal ill, you have to take great care when applying that they can not lick the area. The pill does have nausea and vomiting as a possible side effect. However, they list all effects even if it is 1 animal,i understand your concern because your animals has vomited form a flea treatment in the past, however, id look at the list of ingredients side by side,if they have a common factor then do not use it, if you are still worried ,then please call your vet! Good luck. I have btw given this to both a rescued 2 pound cat and my dog, and neither had any side effects, the cat may have been a bit lethargic but he was also anemic form all the fleas when I rescued him, so hard to tell, but also worth the trade off because i've never in 20 years of practice seen fleas drop off my animal dead like with Capstar.. I was shocked pleasantly, i only had to use one dose, but then on my dog i did bathe and put the topical drops.. If you decide to use the pill, id just do the pill, the bath, and the environment., Good luck!!
