Chihuahua has a heart murmur.....

my 6 year old Chihuahua was diagnosed with a 4/6 heart murmur yesterday and we were advised to switch her food asap. Get her completely away from corn and soy in her food. Is grain free the way to go after 6 years on the same food? Will her transition be more difficult due to the time spent on her old dry food? Should we stick to strictly dry or dry/canned mix or just canned?

Your pet will adjust to the new food over time. Due to her condition of a heart murmer, it would be best to ask your vet if there would be a big difference for her wtih the canned vs. dry food.
