What is Wysong Anergen Dog & Cat Dry Food?

Wysong Anergen is a hypoallergenic, unispecies food that can be given to both dogs and cats. It was developed specifically for dogs and cats who have allergy problems or cannot eat traditional pet food. Wysong Anergen is a lamb and brown rice based formula that is free of many of the allergy-causing protein sources and ingredients in other pet foods. It is made with non-allergenic, high quality protein sources and whole ingredients and the essential nutrients necessary to provide proper nutrition. How it works:

Wysong Anergen is formulated to help pets who have allergies or food intolerances get the nutrition they need from a limited-ingredient pet food.

Directions:

Any sudden change in diet may result in digestive disturbances. Wysong Anergen is a unique formulation, and should be gradually introduced. Over a period of 15 days, mix Anergen with the present diet beginning at about 10% and then gradually increase proportions. If difficulties arise, return to a smaller percentage and try again.
Always keep fresh, pure water available.
The amount fed should be adjusted to maintain an ideal body weight. Do not overfeed, regardless of the pet's eagerness. Over consumption leading to digestive upset is the most common difficulty pets have adjusting to this highly concentrated, unique nutritional formulation.
The following amounts suggested should be decreased in proportion to the amount of supplementation with fresh whole foods, or other foods provided in addition to Anergen dry food.

Tip:

Factors such as stress and amount of activity may make it necessary to adjust the amount of feeding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chuck from The best hypoallergenic AND organic pet food The Science Diet was ignored by my cat, and this other wet food variety (I think the same brand) was also repellent to her. I wholeheartedly agree with the other reviews, and I can't believe she likes it. She eagerly ate it at first, until I gave her Halo Spot's Stew later on, then she favored the wet food. But the point is, she actually eats it, and with no adverse reactions. Her immune system and skin problems don't seem to be affected either (though its only been 2-3 weeks). They even make food for people too....

It's been almost 1 month since we started using Wysong Anergen and my cat has had no problems since. As a bonus, she really likes the taste!

I tried every kind of dry and wet only to have her throw it up getting to the point of me having to clean up her vomit 4-5 times a day. I finally came across this food and she has not thrown up one time (she's been eating it for almost 2 weeks now). I am so happy to have found this, if your cat has allergies or a sensitive digestive system give this a try!!

WHAT IS CRUDE PROTEIN?

WHAT IS CRUDE PROTEIN THAT IS FOUND IN THE ALLERGY FOOD CATS...MY CAT HAS SEVERE ITCHING AND AM TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT IS IN A FOOD THAT CAUSES IT.....THANKS

ground oat groats

I noticed that one of the main ingredients of this dog food is ground oat groats. My dog is currently trying out the hypoallergenic food from Royal Canin and haven't seen any significant results of his allergies improving. He is allergic to oats so would this dog food not be an option for him?

Thank you for your question. You are absolutely correct, Oat Groats will not be a viable option for your furry buddy. You may want to ask your veterinarian about switching to limited ingredient diet pet food where there is only 1 protein and 1 carbohydrate source. Manufacturers like Blue Buffalo, Natural Balance, and Wellness do carry limited ingredient diet dog foods. Good luck

wysong containing lamb

my newest rescue is presently on eukanuba lamb & rice and is having itching issues. in concert with his new vet, we are going to try a hypoallergenic food and she suggested another manufacturer. their food does NOT contain lamb. seeing as his allergy MAY be to lamb protein, does your company have another hypoallergenic product with, possibly, duck or the other protein sources??

Hypoallergenic food

How does your Wysong Anergen Dog & Cat Dry Food compare with Royal Canin Hypoallergenic? Is it comparable ?

Unfortunately the Royal Canin Hypoallergenic is not a product we carry at this time. I would suggest if you currently have a bag compare the ingredients to the Wysong Anergen Dog and cat dry food. Wysong Anergen is specifically formulated for pets with allergies and food sensitivities. Alot of times the ingredients are very close. :)

Is your hypoallergenic dog food equivalent to Purina's HA Canine Formula

Thank you for your question. Purina's HA Canine Formula is prescribed from your veterinarian and is part of vegetarian diet. Wyson Anergen is part of a omnivore diet(animal & plant) and contains lamb as the first ingredient. I would discuss with your veterinarian if you are considering the switch from Purina HA to Wysong Anergen.

SAMPLES?

I have never purchased dog food online. Do you offer samples to make sure my dog doesn't have a reaction to the ingredients? I don't want to be $70 into a new dog food and then have the hassle of shipping it back or having to donate the rest to an animal shelter if my dog reacts.
