Natural Balance L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets Potato & Duck Formula is part of the Allergy-Free line of foods created for dogs prone to food allergies or sensitivities. This dog food limits the ingredients in your dog's diet which may help to reduce allergic reactions such as skin problems, upset stomach, or an irritable bowel. Fresh duck, potatoes, canola oil, and salmon oil comprise the bulk of this food without any artificial preservatives, flavors, or colors.

How it works:
Natural Balance L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets are specially formulated to help reduce allergic reactions in dogs with food sensitivities. By using fresh protein sources and quality carbohydrates not found in many other dog foods (such as duck meat and fresh potatoes) these simple ingredients may help to rebuild your dog's immune system and reduce allergic reactions.

Directions:
- Puppies: From six weeks to six months, feed three times a day. You may want to add a small amount of canned dog food for ease of feeding. The amount of canned dog food can be gradually decreased as the puppy matures. After six months, it is recommended to feed twice daily.
- Adult Dogs: Adult dogs should be fed either once or twice per day. When you first start feeding Natural Balance L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets Potato & Duck Formula, we suggest to start with the amounts recommended in the table below. Energy requirements vary with environmental conditions, temperature, and activity of your dog. The amount of food should always be adjusted to suit your dog's needs.
- Pregnant Dogs: A pregnant dog requires little or no increase of food during the first 6 weeks of pregnancy. During the remaining 3 weeks, the demand for nutrients will gradually increase and the food intake should increase accordingly. During the 7th week, the food intake should increase by approximately 10% and by 20% during weeks 8 and 9.
Lactating Dogs:
Lactation is the most nutritionally demanding period in your dog's life. Immediately after whelping, the nutritional demand for the new mother increases by 50% compared to the maintenance level. Nutritional requirements are dependent on the size of the mother and the number of nursing puppies. So as not to overwhelm the digestive system, the lactating mother should be fed 3 or 4 times per day. As a guideline, we suggest the following schedule:
- After whelping, feed 50% above maintenance level-feed in 3 equal meals per day.
- During the second week, feed twice the maintenance level-feed in 3 or 4 equal meals per day.
- During the third week, feed three times the maintenance level-feed in 3 or 4 equal meals per day.
- During the sixth week gradually reduce the food intake back to twice the maintenance level-feed in 3 equal meals per day.
- During weeks 7 and 8, feed 20% above maintenance levels-feed in 2 equal meals per day.
Tip:
We recommend a gradual introduction by replacing the current food with increasing portions of the new Natural Balance L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets Potato & Duck Formula. The change should be over a 5 to 7 day weaning period.

Wonderful Product
I began using this product for my Rat Terrier, which breed is known for food allergies. It came highly recommended by my vet. One of her biggest issues was overactive anal gland, which our vet said can be caused by what she's eating. After only a couple weeks, she was doing great and hasn't had any issues since, and she's been on the product now for several years. One of our two Black Labs also has a sensitive system and does great on this product as well. Highly recommend it.

Allergic Doggie
Very good product! My dog is allergic to pork, chicken, lamb, wheat, rice...pretty much everything! I tried this food on her and she is doing so much better. Prior she was itching, stratching, etc. and this food has calmed this down. She enjoys the potato and duck formula, thank goodness I finally found a dog food that agrees with her!

Great Food & Happy Dogs
I love this food for my dogs. It's balance nutrition and no skin allergy problems. My dogs use to eat Iams Eukanuba and they smelled like corn chips and always itching. Not anymore!
I'm very pleased with the results. My smaller dog prefers the "Small Bite" formula of this flavor and my big dog likes both of course.... :)

Prancer is prancing again!
Prancer loves this food! She used to lick her paws a lot so we switched to this and we don’t see her doing it anymore. I never thought of feeding duck to dogs until I started looking it up online and apparently lots of dogs do great on it. She didn’t love her old food as much as this stuff – but probably because this is a much better food – but worth it as the quality ingredients are giving her a better, happier life. You are what you eat, even for dogs! LOL. Love this food!

The only one...
My two Boston Terriers love this food. If I try to give them anything else, they will refuse to eat it. Their stool is more solid and stinks less. I have not seen any improvements in their skin, but I have noticed that this food does make them pass gas less. Anyone who has Boston Terriers knows that less gas is a blessing. Any time I have any other dogs over for a visit, they go insane over this food, so it must taste good. I will continue to buy it.

Greatful!
Finally! Starting to see results after the first week! Bella was miserable, I had tried 4 different foods, 8 different shampoos and 3 different medications. We are on day 10 of using Natural Balance Duck and Potato...I use the canned Natural Balance Vennison and Sweet Potato as treats and to hide ketoconazole (for secondary fungus infection to skin) by rolling it in small balls and hiding the pill inside. It's gone in no time so it must taste good! Thank you! to the makers of this Natural Balance Food!

We Love Natural Balance L.I.D.
My precious Mickey (terrier mix) must have had an allergy because his skin was red and he was always licking and scratching. He's such an angel and I couldn't bear to see him suffer. I had read that duck is a good feeding option for this ailment. We tried this natural food and noticied a difference immeadiately. Natural pet food really is the way to go! Mickey's redness cleared up and he stopped licking his paws so often. We will keep buying Natural Balance L.I.D. Potato and Duck! We buy the matching treats too.

wow what a difference
My pitbull has skin/flea allergies. Since she has been eating this food her skin is less irritated and she is scratching much less. In fact her skin and coat look the best they have ever been.

Can you add water to the dry food to soften it up?
My Pugs are older and have very few teeth. They have been eating canned food and love the "duck and potatoe" canned food. I was just wondering if I could soften up the dry food?
Yes adding water or a liquid will in turn cause it to become soggy and softer.
