What is Bio Spot Spot On Flea and Tick Control for Cats?
Bio Spot Spot On Flea and Tick Control for Cats is a topical treatment used to kill and repel fleas, ticks and mosquitoes. Bio Spot contains an insect growth regulator that eliminates flea eggs for up to one month and prevents re-infestation. Bio Spot for Cats is made in the U.S.A.

How it works:
The active ingredients in Bio Spot Spot On Flea and Tick Control for Cats are S-Methoprene and Etofenprox. S-Methoprene prevents flea eggs from maturing into adults. Etofenprox has a very high safety profile, and is quick to kill fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes, and continues to kill pests for up to a month.
Cautions:
Sensitivities may occur after using any pesticide product for pets. If signs of sensitivity occur, bathe your pet with mild soap and rinse with large amounts of water. If signs continue, consult a veterinarian immediately.

What is this product used for:
Bio Spot for Cats is a long lasting topically applied product specifically formulated for cats and kittens to prevent and control flea infestations. Bio Spot for Cats contains Etofenprox which kills biting adult fleas, deer ticks, and mosquitoes. It also contains an insect growth regulator, (S)-Methoprene, which prevents flea eggs from maturing into adults.
Availability:
Bio Spot for Cats is a non-prescription (OTC) product available in packages for cats and kittens under 5 lbs and for cats 5 lbs and over.
How should this medication be used:
For use on cats 12 weeks of age and older. After opening the applicator, gently lift the cat's hair coat at the back of the neck at the base of the skull and position the tip of the applicator on the cat's exposed skin. Squeeze out the entire contents of the applicator onto the cats skin. Do not bathe cat within the first 24 hours after product has been applied.
In the event of overdose:
Contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency room.
What are the side effects:
Sensitivities may occur after using any pesticide product for pets. If signs of sensitivity occur, bathe the pet with mild soap and rinse with large amounts of water. If signs continue, consult a veterinarian immediately. Repeated exposure to Etofenprox can cause skin irritations in humans. Other symptoms may include drowsiness, itching or redness, rash, hair discoloration or hair loss at application site.
What special precautions are there:
Consult a veterinarian before using this product on debilitated, aged, pregnant or nursing animals. Certain medications can interact with pesticides. Consult a veterinarian before using on medicated animals. Use BioSpot for Cats only on cats 12 weeks of age and older. Do not apply this product more than once a month. Do not get this product into the cat's eyes or mouth. Households with more than one cat should prevent cats from grooming each other until solution has dried.
How should I store this product:
Store this medication in a cool, dry place. Do not store unused applicators separately from the package. Keep this medication out of the reach of children and pets.
Directions:
- Apply Bio Spot Spot On for Cats once a month every month.
- For cats, part your pet's hair between the shoulder blades until you can see the skin, and place the tip of the applicator on the skin. Apply the entire contents of the applicator to the pet's skin.
- Use only one applicator per treatment.
Tip:
Wait until application site is fully dry (usually 24 hours) before bathing your pet or letting your pet go swimming.

I'm very pleased with this product. It is very effective with both of my cats. No more scabs from the flea biting & chewing.....it was absolutely awful for them. I used quite a lot of antibiotic ointment.

Stick with Advantage
I treated my baby with this product and it was so ill effective, that I had to bathe her, and then treat her with Capstar and Advantage to rid her of her fleas.
She had gone 11 years without fleas...
DO NOT BUY!!!

This product didn't work!
I was very unhappy with the quality of this product. It did nothing to keep fleas off our cats and didn't impact the fleas on them at all! When I spoke to our veterinarian about Bio Spot and showed her the package, she was not at all familiar with the ingredients. I'll stick to Frontline in the future.

Purchasing this was a total waste of my money. I saw NO difference in the amount of fleas on my cats after treatments with this. The applicator stinks. I needed three hands. One to hold my cat, two to load the medicine into the applicator and then apply. You cannot load the applicator before you are holding your pet, cause if you put it down it leaks all over your counter/table. Do not waste your money.

This DID NOT help my cat.
My cat had fleas so i bought some of this and put it on.. It did not do any good. My cat continued to scratch and he still had fleas. It made his hair very greasy. Save your money.

Bio Spot for my cat did not seem to work. The fleas never stop. I comb my cat several times a day and still get fleas. The fleas are big and full of life. I don't think i will buy Bio spot again.

I loved it
This product was working within 15 mins. I couldn't believe it. It had no side effects on my cats. I just ordered some more plus the Bio flea collar for my pug. I am very happy to finally find something that works and is very affordable!!

Nothing about it is good.
Hard to use, ineffective, and cats hated it even worse than others. I bought six doses and threw away three. Never again!

There are stray semi feral cats that appear to have mange will this help There are 4 and I cannot afford expensive meds

HOW DOES BIO-SPOT DIFFER FROM OTHER FLEA CONTROL SUCH AS REVOLUTION?
Thank you for your question. Bio Spot kills fleas and the eggs, it kills ticks and mosquitoes. Revolution is a heartworm prevention that also kills fleas and prevents development of the eggs, it kills ticks and also ear mites in cats.

If a cat swallows some of this product you should contact your veterinarian right away. Swallowing this insecticide can be harmful to the cat.

I used this product many years ago and was not happy with the results. If I try it again is it really money back guaranteed if it doesn't work?

why can't i find flea collars anywhere?
You can purchase flea collars at PetMeds, but I don't like them and never use them. Bio Spot I use and have never had a problem.

Will you stop selling Bio Spot?
I consider Pet Meds to be THE place to buy things that DO work. As you have had 3 complaints and more than 40 x's reviews have been read, to maintain a good reputation, I think you would take this OFF your shelves.
I hope 1-8---PetMeds NEVER stop selling Bio Spot. I have used it for over 2 years and have never seen a flea or tick. My cat never goes outdoors, however, you can bring fleas in for you cat. So stay protected.
