What is Lipiderm?
Lipiderm is a vitamin supplement that supports healthy skin and coat. Gel caps can be given directly or punctured and mixed with food. For use in dogs. Made in the USA.

How this product should be used:
The recommended dosage of Lipiderm Gel Capsules for dogs 1 to 15 lbs - give 1 capsule once a day. For dogs 16 to 30 lbs - give 2 capsules once a day. For dogs 31-60 lbs - give 2 or 3 capsules once a day.
The recommended dosage of Lipiderm Gel Capsules for Large Dogs is 1 - 2 capsules once a day for dogs 31-70 lbs and 2 - 3 capsules once a day for dogs over 70 lbs.
What are the side effects:

Good product for dry skin
Upon the advice of our local vet we starting using Lipiderm for our dog's dry skin. We started with using the liquid form of Lipiderm at our local pet store on his food but he did like it on his food. He would seriously wait for hours until he was starving to eat his food when the Lipiderm liquid was used. It did smell fishy, so maybe that was it. You have to use it at least a month to see results so I didn't know how we were going to do this.
I saw on 1 800 meds that they had the gelcap of Lipderm.Thought maybe without the fishy smell he would eat it. My dog would not eat it on his own and would pick it out of food or treats. He doesn't like pills, which was probably it. After making him take it 2x/day and chasing him down each time, I was finally able to train him to take it on his own with a small treat reward and praise. I guess he realized that we were doing this 2X/day no matter what so he better get with the program. Now I rattle the jar and he comes willingly to get his treat after he takes his gelcap. No one else I know has this problem with their dog, so I hope this helps someone else who may be having a problem getting your dog to take their pill.
It has been about 1 1/2 months now and we are starting to see an improvement on the dry skin. Together with 3-4X/week brushings- we are pleased for the progress

Have seen great results for my dog
Our Shar pei suffers from the normal skin problems shar peis have. Fish oil alone was not helping. Since we have been giving Ming, Lipiderm her symptoms have gotten better and her fur is thick and beautiful. She doesn't get the skin blisters, scratch as much and her fur is thick and beautiful. Remember this product needs time to work. We started seeing results after 4 months. So be patient....it will work and your dog will be happier. We give her 4 tablets a day. With a proper diet and washes the results have been great.

A life saver for my dog. I have Bassett Hounds and my female has had skin allergies since puppyhood. I tried everything on the market and nothing worked. Even feeding her expensive skin care kibblets did not work. She lost all her hair on her back and neck and had open bleeding sores. The vet gave her a shot that he swore would stop her constant scratching. It did not work. I know this sounds extreme, but I was out of my mind with worry. I found these supplements and started her on two a day for a month and began to see results after a week. It's been nine months now and her skin is healthy. She has soft beautiful fur with no evidence of scarring. I make sure she takes one a day before her dinner and I make sure I will never run out. The pills are large, but with training she knows it's her "pill" time before dinner and has no trouble swallowing it. Highly recommend!!

Most effective product for skin and coat
Cannot speak more highly of impact this product had on our Labrador's skin and fur. Stopped skin flaking and made her fur soft and extremely shiny. Other oil products helped only a little. Significant difference when using this product.

This product is EXCELLENT!
We are the proud owners of a 8yr old black lab. She has been suffering with joint pain for a few years now, especially after a hard day of chasing balls and hiking. She sometimes wouldn't be able to get off her bed the next morning. Or if she did she would limp and cry. It broke this mama's heart! We found this supplement and chose to give it a try after reading the reviews. I have to agree with every single positive review, within a week of taking it we "tested" it out by throwing the ball for her. The next morning she hopped right up without complaint and went right outside. Since then we have thrown the ball more and gone on a few hikes and she does wonderful! She really seems to have less pain. She takes the supplement without complaint and has had no problems with her stool. Over all I would say this product is AWESOME!

The itching has stopped!
Was giving my dog fish oil only & she was keeping us all up through the night with the scratching. My sister's dog was using Lipiderm & her dog wasn't scratching at all. Ordered, used & couldn't be happier. Saw results within a week (maybe because the fish oil was already in her system) Thank you.

Not for cats
I bought this product for my 2 y/o Persian cat. I can't say anything about the effectiveness of this supplement because I can't give it to him. The capsules are just too big and he can't swallow them. I thought I could open a capsule and mix the contents in his food. No dice! The taste is gross (I tried it myself before mixing it with the food) and my cat refused to eat at all.
I suppose it's good for a dog, but definitely shouldn't be advertised "for cats, small and medium dogs". It's not suitable for cats.

What size/length of the gel caps for small dogs?
Can you tell me what is the size of the Omega3 gel caps for small dogs? I want to make sure it's a reasonable size so they can swallow it. Liquid is not an option..they would run away from food.
The gelcap measures 3/4 inch in length.
Our dog is 16 lbs and can swallow this after chewing it first. He doesn't swallow it right away like other dogs I know. He gets one 2X/day. We had to make him take it at first but eventually were able to train him to take it on his own with a tiny treat as a reward. Now he comes when I rattle the jar. We have used this product fro 1 1/2 months with success for his dry skin.
I figured he could swallow it because he can swallow a piece of meat that size. He just didn't want to at first, he doesn't like pills.
And he refused to eat his food and ran from his food with the liquid Lipiderm on it too.

Can I give my dog Lipiderm and Missing Link together?
I have a Labrador mix who has skin allergies and I just purchased Lipiderm and Missing Link Ultimate Skin & Coat. I was wondering if it would be okay to mix the two? Is it possible to have an overdose of the vitamins in both of these combined?
Thank you for your question. To much of Omega 3 could have adverse reactions on health. Please consult with the vet in regards to using both of these at one time.

Can lipiderm help dried itchy spots on muzzle too
my lab has dried spots on elbows and around muzzle ---- always has trouble with ears (we get zymox and it helps for about 3 wks and have to start over) I want to know if this lipiderm would help him?

Can dogs & cats tolerate/digest Omega 6 oils, or should they only have Omega 3?

Can the liquid be given to cats?
No. Lipiderm Liquid is for use in dogs only. However, the Lipiderm Gel Capsules can be used in cats. The capsule can be punctured and the liquid mixed with food.

My dog weighs 27 pounds. Can she take this?
Yes she can. Using the Lipiderm for Cats, and Small or Medium Dogs, you would give your 27 pound pet 2 capsules by mouth every day.
