Universal Medicated Shampoo is formulated to provide antibacterial, antifungal, and keratolytic activity (lesion removal). It's gentle enough for routine use.

How this product should be used:
Shake well. Thoroughly wet your pet's coat with warm water. Massage small amounts of shampoo into the coat while continuously adding water. Continue until a generous lather is generated. Rinse well. The shampoo may be used weekly or as often as recommended by your veterinarian.

Great Product
This shampoo was recommended by our daughter, who is a vet, for our rescue Doxie, who had raw skin around his eyes, and a very thin coat. The shampoo lathers well, and smells wonderful. Within just a few months, Henry had his hair back around his eyes, although it grew in white!
We have a new rescue Doxie now, who is almost bald, and I am using Universal once a week on him.
I highly recommend this product.

Worth every penny...
I have a black lab and a black lab/blue tick beagle mix. The pure bred has the worst skin allergies in the world. Thanks to the vet's recommendation and a change in his diet, his skin has never been better. He develops lesions and bumps around the base of his tail and backside area and this shampoo removes the scales and dead skin as well as the lesions. I strongly recommend lathering your dog with the shampoo and letting it sit on the skin for 10-15 mins to allow the product to do its job then rinse off. Don't be alarmed to see "dandruff" a few days after using the product....that is normal. Its the dead skin and lesions still removing itself after the initial bath. The great thing about this product is that after you bath your dog, it keeps on working. Labs are prone to skin allergies, so instead of heading to the vet everytime for antibiotics and prednisone....use a grain free dog food and this shampoo and your good to go!

Wonderful shampoo !
I have used this shampoo over the past year for my
schnauzer and found it to be very effective. Schnauzers are prone to "hot spots" , and while my
dog will scratch now and then as most dogs will, his
skin is 100% better using this shampoo. The key ingredient , salicylic acid, is the answer, and Bud no
longer has scales, crusting or pimples on his skin.
It is very easy to use and lathers like no other shampoo I have used. It leaves his fur as soft as a
babies bottom This is a great shampoo!

Did not help
I have a large mix breed dog. He has crusty/flaky skin, this shampoo on worked to keep him form scratching for about 24 hours at a time. I used it several times a week and still it was a waste of money.

Vet Solutions Universal Medicated Shampoo
We've tried lots of shampoos. None have been as effective as this one! After 2 uses, no more flakes or sores on her body!! She hardly scratches at all anymore! Leaves the coat very soft and smells great!!

Vet Soulution Univeral Med. Shampoo
I have use the shampoo three times at home and once at the Vet. I took it to the vet when they had their groomming session. I still see that there is a itch problem. Westies are known to have very dry skin. So, shampooing is not recommened too often. I really can't tell at this time. I went back to order the "pet med" oatmeal conditioner as well. Hopefully in time the effectiveness well take place.

Super Allergic Pit and fluffy Papillon
Our pit bull Petey needs frequent baths for his allergies to everything! Vet Solutions Universal Medicated Shampoo works great for him and calms his red, sensitive skin immediately. My Pap has extra long and fluffy hair and she just sparkles after a bath...especially her white fur!

my vet gave me PHARMASEB SHAMPOO from ANMOPHARM for LIASONS dry skin.it has 1% KELOCNAZOLE USP ANTIFUNGAL and 2%CHOROXYLENOL ANTIBACTERIAL .WHICH IS THE BEST? THANKS

Does it help with killing fleas on cats?
My cats are soo itchy from fleas. Flea meds dont help. Can this help kill fleas? If not, is there a shampoo for cats that will?
No. We do not carry any flea shampoos for cats. Please consult with your veterinarian regarding a prescription topical heartworm and flea product for cats called Revolution.

does this product help with Cellulitis?
Cellulitis is a serious infection and requires antibiotic (sometimes aggressive antibiotic) therapy. This product will not help.

Does this product strip the fea treatment?
No. Routine bathing between treatments will not remove reputable topical flea and tick preventatives (Frontline, etc.) - no idea about grocery store stuff.

Can you use this on sore paws with open sores?
My am bulldog will not stop licking and chewing his paws due to a yeast/fungus infection. I need some type of instant relief, but even water seems to hurt him when I try to clean his paws after going outside. I've tried everything to relieve his pain, but nothing is working. Help!
You didn't say if it was a vet who diagnosed your dog with a yeast/fungal infection. If not, PLEASE see the vet. My dog was doing the same thing and wound up having a toe amputated. It was malignant melanoma in her foot. I wouldn't put anything on it if plain water causes your dog pain. Your vet should be able to give you something for that. If it's an allergy, dogs can take Benadryl, but contact your vet for dosage. It helps stop the itching. Bottom line....see your VET for advice on how to stop your dog's suffering.
