The 3cc (3ml) Luer-Slip syringe with 3/4" 22 g Needle is a syringe that works with Adequan, which controls the symptoms of arthritis, or Percorten-V, which controls Addison's Disease. The syringe comes with a needle and allows up to 3 cc (3 ml) of medication for your pet.

How it Works:
This syringe is ideal for use with Adequan for dogs or horses and Percorten-V. Be sure to use the syringe according to your vet. It comes with a luer slip to twist on and off. Please note 1 cc = 1 ml.
Cautions:
Keep out of reach of pets and children. Do not sterilize or reuse syringe.
Directions:
- To draw medication into the syringe, inject the bottle with the syringe and pull back on the syringe plunger until the proper dose is inside the syringe barrel.
- Do not sterilize or reuse syringe.
Tip:
Keep the vial upside down, with the syringe needle pointing upwards to release the medication back into the bottle if any air enters the syringe.

Be Careful
The syringe works well enough once you get it together. I usually swap out the needle for new one (as directed by my vet) to ensure a easier glide and less painful entry for my dog. Problem is, if you're not careful, you'll stick yourself. And, if you don't have the needle on tight, you'll lose the medicine.

wish the connection was more secure
I've been using this type of needle for my dog for 4 years. The needle slides onto the syringe and should fit tightly. The needle typically comes off the syringe when pulling the cover off the end. It is a good idea to double-check this after drawing the medication....and be careful not to stick yourself. I wasted an entire dose (of expensive medicine) when the needle was forced off the syringe during the injection. I wish PetMeds offered a twist-lock syringe.

Good product, but not right for my dog
The product works well, but is not the right one for my dog. I have a small dog that administering the medication with a 3 ml syringe is difficult. The dosage is minimal so a 1 ml syringe with 3/4 22 gauge needle is needed to draw the medication. I cannot read the dosage properly and have had to go to the vet for the proper syringe.

I wasn't too crazy about the Luer-Slip syringe. First off, the needle was quite a bit thicker than what our vet initially gave us. We could tell there was a bit of discomfort to our dog because of this. Second, the measurement was also different than the first set of syringes our vet gave us. I wish all manufacturers would use one measurement and stick with it.

Exactly what we needed
Although my vet ordered the 1cc this is much better than the 1cc. Percorten is a thick fluid so when you use the 1cc it takes longer to draw down. This syringe made it much easier. I also prefer the removable needle which this has. Before I draw the medication as a precaution I always tighten the needle.

Good for the price
The only reason for 4stars is I wished you offered the ones that the needle screws on. I have had issues with the tip coming off during application. You just have be sure it is on tight.

The low price is reflected in its design
The needle is attached to the syringe with a friction fitting. The needle cover is also fitted with a friction connection. I find when trying to remove the needle cover that the needle itself comes off of the syringe. I would rather pay a little extra to get a product where the needle is attached with a twist lock so that the needle did not detach when removing the needle cover.

Good product, wish it was available in larger size
Pro: Clean, safe, easy and cost effective
Con: Available only in 3ml
This product is very effective. The only issue we have is it seems to only be available in one capacity size (3ml). Our pup has Addisons disease and due to him being an extra large dog -- Great Dane, English Mastiff mix -- we end up having to give him two shots each time instead of one. Other than that the product is great.

Is this size needle good for a 5 pound minpin when using Adequan?
Or would I need a smaller size syringe for my dog?
The needle portion of the syringe needle combo is what is required to provide a successful injection as Adequan is a viscous liquid. The syringe portion depends on the dose that is needed for your pet.
