Tip:

Great for Red Eyes
So far so good. This product has really helped my bloodhound's eyes from being so red. I can actually see the whites of her eyes. I am using it twice a day and seeing great results.

Great Product
This ointment works really well for my pug's dry eyes. I use it in conjunction with LiquiTears and her eyes stay moisturized and clear. I have used a similar product from my vet that costs twice as much, but this works just as well.

At ease!
I have a beautiful white kitten with orange spots who is blind. Due to her being abandoned she began with many issues including herpes in the eyes.I was putting eye drops and puralube when I first rescued her but after many tests and expert advice the drops would be a waste of time and money. So I use the puralube to ease the redness around the eyes. She loves when I massage her eyes and enjoys that little bit of quality time! Highly recommended :)

Great product!
Our Tibetan Spaniel developed irritation of her inner and lower eyelids. Her tears would dry out and crust in abundance in the area.
Inflammation is gone in a matter of days and drying and crusting has lessened since using Puralube.

Relief within days
My English Bulldog is a rescue who had cherry eye and the surgery for it while he was in foster care. As a result, he has dry eye and frequently would get a crusty discharge from his eyes. The right eye was much worse than his left one but with the daily use of the Puralube Ointment, his eyes are no longer crusty. They stay hydrated and the reddness is much improved. I had been using a replenishing eye gel that the foster care had used but this is so much better. Would definitely recommend this product.

The difference between Optimmune and Puralube?
I have a pug that is 11 years old, she was born with eye issues, she has had very little site her whole life. She has been on this ointment for a long time but it is expensive. So I have been giving her it at night not twice a day.
Optimmune is an eye ointment that contains cyclosporine. It is used for the management of keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS or dry eye).
Puralube is just a gel form of artificial tears......something you use if your eyes are temporarily irritated or dry. As an ointment, it coats the eye for longer, which is why it usually recommended for use at night.
You should always follow your vet's instructions for use, as if you decrease the amount of Optimmune you are using, her eyes will become more irritated and painful.- (dry eye is painful!). She could lose her eyes.
No reason you can't supplement with Puralube, but remember it is just a neutral eye ointment that will keep the eyes moist, but not provide what Optimmune does.

what is the easiest way to put eye medications in your pets eyes?
I have them sit in front of me and then I go up and put the ointment in from the top down. I use my little finger the hand with the ointment to pull up the eyelid a bit and use my thumb on the other hand under the eye to hold them still. Might want to squeeze out a little ointment so you are ready to apply into the eye.
I always use treats after the ointment has been applied. I have 5 dogs that need eye treatments. They all sit and wait after breakfast and dinner for their eye drops/ointment.

Your pet may have an eye infection, you should have him evaluated by a veterinarian to determine an appropriate treatment.

Discharge can be due to a number of possibilities including infection. I would suggest you contact your veterinarian and have the cat's eye examined.

Can opthalmic ointment be used by humans? This product has the same ingredients as products sold at pharmacies?
I've been using this product nightly for my own dry eyes for about 2 years now with no problems whatsoever. Replaces products that cost twice as much. It's sterile and the same ingredient as the more expensive stuff. What else is there to say?
