What is Artificial Tears Solution?
Artificial Tears Solution is a lubricant used to moisturize the eyes. It prevents irritation and relieves dry eyes that occur due to decreased tear production or increased tear evaporation.

The active ingredient polyvinyl alcohol is an ocular lubricant used when natural tear formation is reduced.
Cautions:
If redness or irritation of the eye continues or gets worse after 72 hours, discontinue use and consult a veterinarian. Do not use Artificial Tears Solution if the solution changes color or becomes cloudy. To avoid contamination of the product do not touch the tip of the dropper bottle to any surface. Replace cap after use. Stop use and consult a veterinarian if your pet experiences eye pain, changes in vision, continued redness or irritation of the eye.

In the event of overdose:
Contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency room. In case of accidental ingestion contact a physician or poison control center immediately.

Store this product at room temperature. Keep the container tightly closed. Keep this product out of the reach of children and pets.

Tip:

My 8 year old mini doxie was diagnosed with KCS (dry eye) at 11 months. Everyday of our lives since has involved eye drops. Her original course of treatment was tacrolimus, neomycin and polymyxin and an OTC lubricant drop. This regiment was done twice a day and eventually reduced to once a day for YEAS! She stopped responding to this treatment about 6 months ago. A new vet tried us on cyclosporine and after a brief honeymoon period it stopped working. We went back to the original treatment and limped along until I was certain we would be visiting the specialist for a more aggressive solution.
I was researching and found the reviews here and decided the few bucks was worth the try compared to the specialist fee of $125 just to walk in the door.
OMG!!! This stuff is working! Two weeks in and I treat the eye two to three times a day. The eye has not looked so healthy in months. I am crossing my fingers that we aren't having another "honeymoon period" and will update if things change.
I cannot believe after YEARS of buying high priced, compounded drops a simple, OTC counter solution would be available.
It is worth the few dollars to try this product. Give it three or four days if you have a serious eye issue like I did. The effort and cost are nothing compared to the excellent outcome!!!!!

Winter in Northeast means woodstove weather. Lola's eyes were very dry and using the drops before bed seems to make her so much more comfortable. No more rubbing! I would recommend.

Great Product
My Shih Tzu had dry eyes which were red and she could hardly open her eyes. Initially this product didn't work for the first few days but I continued using it for a week and viola! It works! Now she is back to her normal playful and feisty self, bright eyed and bushy tail. I'm so happy that finally I found a product that worked and thanks to those who posted positive reviews about this product which was the reason why I tried it because the vet prescribed several other topical cream and none worked after spending $$$.

My shih tzu Katie at 10, has dry eye. The meds from the vet were so expensive. I'm on a fixed income & read all about LiquiTears & Puralube ointment. Has same ingredients at an affordable price. I use it twice a day & she is bright eyed & feels so good now. That's why I call it "Katies Miracle". thank you so much for being there when I was so desperate to keep my baby girls eyes healthy. I am recommending these products to everyone.

Brittany was suffering from dry eye and this was recommended to me. From the vet, it was very expensive so 1800 PedMeds came to my rescue. I am very satisfied and at her last appt vet said she was doing well. I also am using Puralube ointment along with the LiquiTears. She was getting this 3x's a day but we are down to two.

what is good for dog with dry eyes
dogs eyes are dry but not red....never has tears
I ordered Puralube Vet Ointment and used it along with LiquiTears 3 time daily for 2 weeks. Now am using just LiquiTears 2 times daily and my 10 year old Shih Tzu is bright eyed and her happy self again.

Use on 3-week old kitten?
Could I use this on a 3 week old kitten?
Details: One of the ferals in our neighborhood had kittens - in the box I made up for her if you can believe that! We've been taking care of the lil sweethearts, their mama is a devoted and wonderful mother, and she is just a kitten herself :( Not to worry, we will be paying to have her spayed after she's weaned the lil ones..she showed up pregnant at my doorstep about 4 weeks ago with another feral that I've been feeding for about a year. Anyway, she has a bit of clear gunk that's sort of "pasting" her eyes closed, for the most part. Washing them with sterile saline helps, but rather than having to do this several times a day, can we use this? Will it hurt the lil mama if she licks it from the kitten's face? I suspect it shouldn't be an issue, but I would love some feedback. Thanks :)
There should be no problems with using this product in the kitten. However since this is just a lubricant it may not resolve the underlying problem that is causing the secretions from the eye.
