What is Himalayan Dog Chew?

The Himalayan Dog Chew is a healthy alternative to bones and rawhide dog chews. Made by hand using an ancient Nepalese 3-month smoking method, this hard cheese dog chew is easy to digest and long-lasting for hours of chewing fun. Himalayan Dog Chews are gluten-free, lactose-free and contain no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. The delicious natural cheese flavor will keep your dog happy, and you'll be happy knowing you are providing him or her with a healthy, high-protein, low-fat treat. As well, you will know you are helping to support one of the world's most impoverished nations. Over 3,000 Nepalese farmers contribute to the making of Himalayan Dog Chews. The Himalayan Corporation operates under the Beyond Fair Trade policy, purchasing ingredients and chews directly from farmers of Nepal.

For:

Dogs

Benefits:
  • 100% Natural
  • Long-lasting
  • Easy to digest
  • Gluten-free
  • Lactose-free
  • No preservatives
  • No binding agents
  • High-protein and low-fat
  • No artificial colors or flavors
  • Handmade using only 3 ingredients
How it Works:

Himalayan Dog Chews are made of very hard yak and cow milk cheese in a 3-month smoking process, giving it a bone-like consistency. However, unlike bones or rawhide chews, Himalayan Dog Chews are easily digestible and provide a good source of protein.

Cautions:

None.

How to Use
Directions:
  • Offer as a nutritious supplement to your dog's diet, or use as a training treat.
  • After opening, store the chew in a dry place. The chew will go bad if it sits on moisture for more than one hour if your dog is not chewing on it.
  • The Himalayan Dog Chew has an expiration date of approximately 4 years from the date of opening the package, as long as it is kept in dry conditions.
Tip:

When a small piece of chew is left over, it can be placed in the microwave for 45 seconds, at which point it will puff up. This can be offered back to your dog after cooling for 2 minutes, when it can be eaten as a cheese puff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for heavy chewers I have a boxer who is a very heavy chewer. He chews up other chews within a matter of minutes. I purchased the Himalayan dog chew and it lasted him 8 days of hardy chewing. This product is safer than rawhide and lasts so much longer than other chews out there. My dog really likes the smokiness of this chew that he begs to chew on it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My dog won't eat it.... My cocker spaniel loves almost everything, So I bought two of these bars for him. He has not gotten through the first one-- carries it around if we go out, but won't eat it. I tried microwaving it, and still no luck. Will not buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WONDERFUL Dog Chew I have 2 dachshunds. One standard and one mini. My standard is a male and he is my boy for sure. He absolutely LOVES this chew. I buy the one for 15 lbs and below and give him the biggest one in the package. He chews on it for days if not up to two weeks. When it's at the end and about an inch left i blow it up in the microwave like they said for 45 seconds and wait for it to cool and cut it in half for both. My little girl loves it as well, except she just takes it and hides it in her bed. She has chewed on it a couple of times but she is old and doesn't have all of her teeth. So, she is happy to just hide it. I love these chews because they don't get slimy or stinky. I recommend them completely. NO complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from lasts a long time My Borzoi needs to chew and not on my furniture, he doesn't like the antlers and eats large compressed rawhide in two days. He loved the Himalayan treats and he first one he still has after two weeks. He chews it constantly and takes it allover the house. Its not greasy and doesn't smell. It's great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Chew We have four dogs. From an almost 10lb chi mix who is 16 years old and a just over 10lb chi mix who is 2 years old to our two 6 year old mixes who are in the 20 - 25 lb range. I should have gotten the smaller size. But don't think for one minute it stopped my girls. They took turns chewing their treat and loving it! The puppy likes to take her treats into bed - meaning our bed! She worked on this chew for hours. And left my husband's boots alone. I'm telling everyone I know that this is a chew dog parents simply must try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great but expensive We have 3-around 25# dogs and 2 very large ones. I bought a bag for of 3 for $29.00 and gave them to the smaller ones. They loved them. However, as much as I love my dogs, I can't afford a treat that they devour in less than an hour. They don't make one big enough for our 120# dog. Good Product, just not affordable, unless you only have 1 dog.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our dogs chew them all day long! I have never given our three dogs anything they have enjoyed more. We have a Pit Bull, Lab and Beagle and they all love the chews.

How is it "lactose free"?

what size dog treat?

I have two Saint Bernards, one 140lbs, the other 160lbs... 5 years old. Which treat do you recommend?
Asked by: Zoe and Mason
The largest size sold here is for dogs 70 lbs. I have two small dogs under 21 pounds, and bought the 35 pound size. It doesn't seem to be too much for either of them.
