What is AminAvast?

AminAvast™ is a specially formulated, veterinarian recommended supplement to promote and support healthy kidney function in cats and dogs. How it Works:

AminAvast™ supports natural kidney function by helping to maintain normal renal blood pressure and vasodilation, as well as increasing the hormone that promotes renal tissue repair. Directions:

Mix the capsule contents with a small amount (i.e. tablespoon) of wet food to ensure your cat or dog eats the entire amount.

We have had no problem with her avoiding food with this in it and we are thrilled with her change in energy. She has even been getting on to furniture to bask in sun spots. Something she has not been doing for a while. Thus the vet visit.

Is this OK to use with Dry Food? Instructions show wet but my dog does not eat wet food.

I use this for my cat and I mix it with Viyo Recuperation to make it a nutritional supplement for my old kitty. I open the capsule and mix it in a couple of tablespoon of Viyo and she laps it up.

Dosage question.

I have three senior kitties (one is on Benazepril, a blood pressure med for his CRF). I wish to give all of them Renavast. Can I use the 1000mg capsule in their wet food (which they split three ways), twice a day? Also, will Benazepril conflict with Renavast, since they both affect blood pressure in the kidneys?

It would not be recommended to add to the food that they share because you would not be able to make sure that each cat was getting the correct dose. As far as giving it with the benazepril, there are no contraindications, but we always recommend checking with your veterinarian when adding over the counter supplements to your pets regimen, especially when they have chronic renal failure.

How does this compare with Azodyl?

Hi, I am currently giving my cat Azodyl twice a day. She hates talking a pill, and I was wondering if this is a comparable product to Azodyl? Can I give this to my cat instead of Azodyl? Thank you :)

No. They are doing different things. This product is giving kidney support. There is research that certain amino acids and omega 3 fats reduce inflammation in some patients. See Tanya's crf page and other info sites on crf. Azodyl contains strains of beneficial bacteria that the manufacturer claims consume some wastes taking pressure off the kidneys. They are different and do not conflict. I would compare to Astro's oil and research on fish oil and coq10. I think tanyscwebsite mentions renavast. Also talk to your vet as theory is less protein but higher quality protein. God bless I hope your cat gets better. Merry Christmas!
