What is Bark Genie Automatic Bark Control?
A barking dog can be a nuisance, not only to you, but to your neighbors as well. When you want to stop your dog from loud barking, and get on your neighbors' "good sides" once again, use the safe and effective Bark Genie Bark Control. The Bark Genie Automatic uses safe, ultrasonic sound waves that only dogs can hear to stop unwanted barking and from bothering you and your neighbors. How it Works:
The Bark Genie Automatic Bark Control silences your dog's barking instantly with safe, ultrasonic sound waves that only your dog can hear.
Cautions:
Do not submerse in water or any other liquid.
To install the Bark Genie Automatic:
- The Bark Genie uses a 9V alkaline battery, which is not included.
- Remove the battery door by pressing the lever and pulling the door from the slots.
- Insert the battery according to the positive and negative terminal markings.
- Replace the battery door by inserting into the slots and pressing close.
Testing the Bark Genie Automatic:
- When you place the battery in your Bark Genie, you will want to test it to make sure it is working properly.
- Turn the adjustment dial to TEST.
- Hold the unit at arms length away from you.
- Speak the word "BARK" loudly.
- If the green LED flashes and a beep sound is heard, your Bark Genie Automatic is ready for use. If a beep is not heard, then repeat with a louder voice.
- If the LED is red, you battery is low and you will need to change your battery.
- If the device is still not working, make sure the battery was properly placed in and the door is properly secure.
When the Bark Genie Automatic is Ready for Use:
- When you are done testing your Bark Genie, it's time to determine where you want to place it. To ensure optimal performance, place the Bark Genie Automatic at least 5 feet from the ground so nothing obstructs it. You can use your Bark Genie Automatic indoors or outdoors.
- Set the microphone setting using the adjustment dial (See package insert for microphone settings).
Tips to use the Bark Genie Automatic Bark Control
- Place the device at least 5 feet from the ground pointed in the direction of where the dog barking originates.
- Optimal performance will be achieved when obstructions between the device and the dog are minimized.

How do I know the Bark Genie Automatic Bark Control is working?
When in testing mode the green LED should be on to let you know it is transmitting. While in a quiet room and your dog is relaxed/resting, your dog should raise his or her head and/or look around when the button of the device is pressed. (To ensure the devise is working correctly, try the same test on a different dog.)
Why can't I hear the ultrasonic tone?
Ultrasonic sounds are high frequency and inaudible to most humans.
Can my dog become desensitized to the ultrasonic sound?
Your dog can become familiar with the ultrasonic sound after extended use of the product. In order to avoid this try one or all of these tips: turn off the product periodically and when not in use, move it to a new location indoor or outside of your home or turn off for a few days.
Tip:
To clean: Use a damp cloth with water only. Never use household cleaning products. Always remove the battery before cleaning.

This is a great product- when it works!
In less than 3 weeks, the box left outside, the product ceased to emit any sound...so I got a new battery to no avail- Because of my initial enthusiasm, I discarded the box and shipping info therefore I am the proud owner of silent box!
Great idea-too bad it is so short lived.

Save your money...
Jack, my Black Lab, was fear barking at anything that moved, e,g., passersby, cars, other animals, etc. I set this us outside and, at first, I think the sound got his attention and interrupted his barking a few times, On the second day, it was less effective. By the third day, it was useless.

I really wanted this thing to work. But it didn't. But I remembered the 100% guarantee, and called Pet Meds to verify that. And sure enough, my full purchase price was credited to my Pay Pal account, and I was able to print a return label, with free shipping, fro their home page. Even though the bark Genie didn't work, my relationship with Pet Meds is better than ever. They couldn't have made it any easier. And they will have a customer forever.

Bought this with hopes it would discourage our neighbors dog from barking forever....IT WORKED!!!
Whenever that dogs starts barking i just turn it on and he quickly stops. It has also worked on our dogs too, but it's our neighbors that that is the nuisance and we can finally have some peace and quiet. wish this had come out a year or two ago...THANKS!!!

FABULOUS PRODUCT
I have been trying to curb my dog's barking for 10 years. One bark is all it took and she hasn't barked since. Not only that but I put it on the block wall between our yard and our neighbors and the neighbors dog quit barking as well. What a relief !!! I couldn't recommend it more.

Can this product be left outside for extended periods? I have neighbors on both sides with noisy dogs would like to position one of these towards their yards.
